Who are we looking for?

Marketing Specialist C&MD develops and implements a multi-channel marketing strategy, provides input for both online and offline campaigns, content strategy, and creates compelling value propositions. In this role, you’ll increase awareness, engagement, and financial support for War Child among our target groups, including major donors and corporate partners. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that fundraising, branding, and advocacy efforts are strategically aligned and contribute directly to War Child’s mission.

Your responsibilities

Developing marketing strategy & plan

  • Co-responsible for the development of the multi-year target group strategy.
  • Translating the annual plan into an ROI-driven multi-channel marketing approach (plan) and planning, including a SMART business case in collaboration with the fundraising communications specialist.
  • Coordinating and enriching marketing plans and strategy with all relevant internal stakeholders, such as brand and fundraising communications specialists and other target group teams.
  • Gain insight into the market, sector, and target groups through desk and field research, benchmark research, target group analysis, and attending relevant networking and benchmarking events (Goede Doelen NL, DDMA, Nassau Fundraising, etc.).

Realizing marketing strategy & plan

After approval of the marketing plan (including business case), the marketing specialist leads the implementation by providing clear briefings for the development of necessary resources with internal and/or external parties for the purpose of lead generation and/or fundraising.

  • Drafting clear briefings as part of the marketing plan for events, online/offline communication materials, promotional materials, campaigns, advertisements, etc. in collaboration with the fundraising communications specialist.
  • Developing fundraising proposals together with fundraising communications specialists and the War Child Alliance.
  • Provide insight into the most important current donor journeys, including proposals to optimize or renew them.
  • Design and implement an attractive and efficient loyalty program, including an effective communication process.

Focus on new business & innovation

  • Testing and developing new (innovative) propositions, concepts, channels, etc.
  • Establishing new (sponsored) partnerships with the aim of developing new propositions and/or acquisition channels in collaboration with the fundraising team.
  • Participate in networking events focused on knowledge sharing with benchmarks and inspiration for innovation.

Database & marketing automation management

Data is essential for evaluating and optimizing marketing campaigns and other activities. Marketing specialists actively contribute to the development of data-driven processes and donor journeys.

  • Proactively consult with data analysts about how marketing communications can and should be measured.
  • Provide input for dashboards to monitor the progress of marketing activities.

Your profile

Course

  • HBO+ marketing-related education, preferably with NIMA B certification.

Experience

  • Experienced all-round marketer with experience in proposition development and strategy.
  • Experience in a similar position within the commercial sector and/or non-profit organization.
  • Experience in initiating and leading innovation processes and able to apply methodologies and tools such as Design Thinking, growth hacking, Scrum Agile, etc.).

Languages

  • Dutch and English at an advanced level.

Knowledge and skills

  • Skilled in maintaining (external) contacts at various levels.
  • Commercial insight and mindset.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Strong in internal and external stakeholder management.

What we offer

  • Salary ranges from €4015 to €4992 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week (the exact amount is determined by the years of your relevant work experience);
  • 8% holiday allowance based on the annual salary;
  • An employment contract for 32-40 hours;
  • 29 days of vacation per year on a full-time basis (of which 3 pre-determined days off);

  • Net contribution to home work and travel expenses according to our hybrid work policy;
