Human Resources Specialist At Danish Refugee Council

Danish Refugee Council is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in more than 40 countries to provide adequate assistance with a rights-based approach to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees and migrants. DRC is currently looking for a highly qualified Human Resource Specialist.

Overall Purpose of the role:

Provide overall advice, coordination, and technical support to the Human Resources team. Ensure efficient support to the program in accordance with existing DRC policies and procedures

This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.

Main Responsibilities

Human Resources Expert

  • Provide technical support over the HR Processes end to end to the Human Resources team at the Base Offices, procuring the right alignment, comprehension, continuous improvement, and compliance to the overall guidelines.
  • Train and assure the continuous learning and development of the HR Team at the Base Offices on procedures and guidelines over the processes that would manage as Back Office
  • Lead and coordinate special projects within HR Function to apply his/her expertise and achieve the continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Participate in other departments special project as a Business Partner and provide technical advice on people and change management
  • Act as a relations enabler among the teams, providing practices and advise for environmental wellness on in a multicultural and humanitarian organization.

Development , people planning and Performance Expert

  • Work with senior management team and senior staff on programme strategies and initiatives to anticipate and plan the HR needs.
  • Lead and manage the performance process and improvement plans.
  • Design the Annual Development Plan based on the program strategy and people needs and guide the Front offices HR Team to the right execution of the plan and objectives achievement
  • Support staff development activities including promoting the DRC Learning Catalogue.
  • Manage and guide about the ONG structure process design.

Well-being,

  • Design the people well-being initiatives to support the organizational strategy on this matter, assuring the complete coverage for all staff and budget achievement and coordinate the right implementation at the base offices
  • Design programme strategies and iniciatives to comply with the occupational safety and health activities.
  • Structure and design the work plan for the DRC Voices, survey at the times and according to the guidelines established by HQ.

Occupational health and safety System

  • Guide and direct all activities for the DRC’s occupational health and safety management system.
  • Have constant contact with the ARL for compliance with the occupational health and safety management system.
  • Ensure, together with the ARL, compliance with the occupational health and safety management system, By current regulations.

Human Resources Policies and Support

  • Coordinate and assure that HR Processes are well maintain and aligned with the Operational Handbooks and global strategy
  • Proactively pursue continuous process improvement in Human Resources related practices to enhance the quality and efficiency of output/deliver
  • Work closely with HQ to share information and provide support as required.

Required experience and competencies

  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience in Human Resources managing main processes (Staffing, People Planning, Labor Relations, Development, well-being)
  • Previous experience within an NGO is desirable
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge/experience of Human Resources Management principles, concepts & processes
  • Extensive knowledge on local labor law
  • Experience in developing Human Resources strategies and policies, and driving implementation
  • Experience using an online system for HR, such as ERP, , people management systems (Dynamics), and complete Office Package (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Previous experience in POWER BI is desirable.
  • A degree in occupational health and safety is desirable.

Required education

Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or Social Science Degree specializing in Human Resources.

Languages

Full professional proficiency in English.
