Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger worldwide. Assignment :
Under the supervision of the Country Director, your mission will be to manage all Technical Department Heads and oversee the definition, development, and implementation of Action Against Hunger’s (ACF) strategy in the Central African Republic (CAR).
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the definition and implementation of the strategy and ensuring the operational management of the Technical Departments, technical advocacy efforts, and local partners;
Representing Action Against Hunger and maintaining relationships with donors, authorities, UN agencies, and other NGOs regarding the technical operational strategy, programs, and advocacy;
Analyzing humanitarian needs, defining, and developing ACF’s strategy in CAR;
Managing your team: 6 direct reports (Heads of Departments for SMSP, SAME, Nutrition and Health, WASH, MEAL, and GRO);
Monitoring program budgets; and
Assuming the functions of Country Director in the absence of the Country Director.

Profile:
You hold a graduate degree in humanitarian sciences, social sciences, management, or other technical fields relevant to Action Against Hunger.
You have proven experience in the humanitarian NGO sector, as well as in managing emergency and development programs.
You possess strong management skills (team leadership, coaching, and training): defining and managing objectives and priorities, communication, decision-making, and remote management.
You have the capacity to coordinate and plan a program at the national level, represent ACF externally, and position its operations in relation to identified humanitarian and development challenges. You are proficient in the project cycle.
Organized, rigorous, concise, and precise, you are able to anticipate, take initiative, analyze, and solve problems.
You are fluent in written and spoken French and English, with excellent writing skills.
Employment conditions

National applications: in accordance with the ACF RCA national salary scale.
International applications:
Fixed-term contract under French law: 12 months until January 14, 2027.
Gross monthly salary: from €2,899 to €3,376 depending on experience, including a 13th-month bonus.
Retirement insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens: 16% of the gross monthly salary.
Base salary increase: 6% every 12 months of continuous contract.
Monthly per diem and living expenses: €746 net, paid in the field.
Monthly context allowance: €150.
Child allowance: €1,500 per year per child present in the country of origin (capped at €6,000/year).
Transportation and accommodation: Travel and accommodation in a private apartment provided.
Medical coverage: 100% coverage of health insurance contributions and repatriation insurance, and of your medical expenses for up to one month after the end of the contract. Your contract includes:
Salary maintenance provisions (sickness, maternity, paternity);
Leave and R&R: 25 days of paid leave per year and 20 R&R days per year; reimbursement of airfare up to a maximum amount to travel to the chosen break zone, and a flat-rate allowance of €215 per R&R day;
Support and training;
Field travel: Ouham, Nana Mambéré, Lim-Pendé, Ouham Pendé
