Assistant Country Logistics Coordinator – Democratic Republic of Congo At Malteser International

In the provinces of Ituri, Haut Uélé, Bas Uélé, Equateur, Kasaï Central and North Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the NGO has been providing humanitarian assistance since 2000. Malteser International is carrying out various projects there in the areas of health, water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) and food security.

Malteser International is seeking a Country Logistics Assistant Coordinator to manage its program, based in Ariwara, Democratic Republic of Congo.
As Country Logistics Assistant Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the Country Logistics Coordinator in the strategy and management of logistics operations within the mission in the DRC.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assist the Country Logistics Coordinator (CLP) in monitoring the daily and practical aspects of security management for the mission (applied security) in collaboration with the Security and Safety Coordinator.
  • Collaborating with the CLP in coordinating supplies and deliveries for projects and bases, while ensuring compliance with the procedures and logistical tools in force within the Organization
  • Supporting the CLP in managing the
    mission’s IT, telecommunications/radiocommunication and energy supply equipment
  • Provide support in managing the vehicle fleet (availability, security, maintenance, etc.) to ensure the smooth operation of the mission and the conduct of activities in accordance with available budgets.
  • Participate in the development of plans for the redeployment / installation / rehabilitation / closure of bases
  • Represent, as instructed by the CLP, the organization to partners, authorities and various local stakeholders involved in the logistics and security of the mission
  • Assist the CLP in centralizing and disseminating logistical information within the mission and at headquarters, and consolidate internal and external reporting on this matter.

Your profile:

  • Advanced studies in Logistics; training in internationally recognized humanitarian institutes is an asset
  • Extensive experience in logistics management, with at least 4 years of professional experience in the humanitarian and/or development sector.
  • Knowledge of donor procedures (especially European Union), logistical procedures for purchasing, transport and inventory management
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
  • Excellent command of French (spoken and written) is essential, knowledge of English is desirable, and German would be an asset.
  • Professional experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo is an asset
