Finance and Administrative Assistant At Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Finance and Administrative Assistant to support the general management of the office and country programs at Bangladesh country offices. This role is offered on a 1 year’ fixed-term contract, subject to availability of funding. You will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Candidates will ideally be available to start immediately.

About GAIN

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager, the assistant will work closely with all office colleagues. You will support office management and administration, procurement, logistics reporting and filing.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Supporting Finance Associate in monthly closing, ensuring all transactions for the month are recorded accurately and deadlines set by GAIN headquarter are met
  • Responsible for the filing of confidential HR documents and regular follow up in terms of Insurance policy with the agencies
  • Keeping agendas up to date, organising travel arrangements, IT and telephone management, etc.
  • Making travel arrangement for the team, attend visitors, provide ICT support and arrange the project procurements, based on the authorization, guidelines and with the approval of the Finance and Administrative manager
  • Completing Purchase Orders and processing Purchase Orders Payments for procurement of goods and services

About You

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelors’ degree or equivalent certification in Accounting and Finance or related fields and previous experience in Finance and Administration functions within a finance and office support role. You should have good working computer knowledge with proficiency in basic office software specially MS Office Excel. Candidate with experience in using QuickBooks accounting software is preferred.

The postholder should have good interpersonal and communications skills, good in spoken and written English. You should have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work well under pressure with deadlines as well as highly flexible and willing to travel in challenging environments.

About our Offer

The starting salary on offer for this role is from BDT 613,680 – BDT 698,520 per annum, depending on experience.
