At the end of the assignment, the consultant is expected to deliver a single, consolidated project on PES/biodiversity certificates covering the mining, forestry, agriculture and conservation sectors, ready for funding and presenting:
• The finely crafted context incorporating the analysis of the impacts and challenges related to local governance and mining, agricultural (especially cocoa) and forestry activities on biodiversity in the landscape;
• The geographical scope of the project;
• Potential partners;
• The duration;
• Direct, indirect and potential beneficiaries;
• Possible partners and synergies;
• A more detailed analysis of stakeholders and their responsibilities, complementing the analysis already carried out during the dialogues;
• The logical framework with objectives, results/indicators and activities/deliverables;
• The vision and theory of change of the project;
• The presentation of potential ecological zones, for the establishment of ZCCs and taking into account mining, cocoa farming and forestry activities (with supporting maps);
• The indicators and prerequisites for the implementation of a Payment for Environmental Services (PES) and/or Biodiversity Certificates mechanism at the ETIC landscape level are known;
• The expected impacts in terms of biodiversity and economic development using relevant biodiversity and economic indicators and reference tools (e.g., SFN standard, Nature Positive, STAR…) for donors;
• A monitoring and evaluation plan;
• An estimated budget for the implementation of the project.
If a landlord is identified, the consultant will ensure that the final project sheet is adapted to the requirements of the selected landlord.
