Overview of position:

  • CTG is looking for qualified staff as mentioned below in the TOR.

Role objectives: Broadcast Production Technicians are responsible for the operation and quality control of video, audio & data equipment for the UN Permanent Broadcast Facility (PBF). The services associated with Broadcast Production Technician include but are not limited to:

  • Configure & operate production equipment (SD, HD, IP & file based) both in studio & on location, robotic, studio & ENG (Electronic News Gathering) camera operation, studio & location audio engineering, studio & remote lighting set up & operation, camera shading, vision mixing, teleprompter & character generation set up & operation.
  • Master control & transmission services, content ingest & management, all services to assist in the generation of UN programming & or other content.

Project reporting:

  • This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma & successful graduation from a minimum of 2 years of related college or other related tertiary academic or technical qualification.
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience in production systems & operations.
  • Familiar with studio audio & video monitoring, studio communication systems, digital multi channel audio production.
  • The operations of audio production console, audio signal processing, studio & control room monitoring, Studio communications systems (i.e., intercom, IFB, hybrids & telephone).
  • Experience in the delivery of multiple audio productions.
  • Familiar with monitoring & metering of video & analogue & digital audio signals for quality control.
  • Familiar with analogue & digital video & audio routing & distribution including patch panels.
  • Familiar with end to end file broadcast delivery systems.
  • The position, reports to the relevant contract owner UN officer & requires close interaction & coordination with UN production personnel, event organizers & event coordinators.
  • The Technician must be able to work successfully both supervised & unsupervised.

  • This role has no team management responsibility
