Overview of position:

• CTG is looking for qualified staff as mentioned below in the TOR.

Role objectives:

• Conduct reconnaissance using remotely piloted aircraft vehicles such as quadcopters & fixed wing air assets.
• Perform launch & recovery of assets.
• Prepare offsite mission plan for mapping & reconnaissance surveys in line with the UN‘s requirement.
• Liaise with service counterparts such as aviation & security forces.
• Maintain flight log & usage statistics.
• Do maintenance on the UAV.
• Do basic fault rectification with limited remote support.
• Download data, archives & assimilate sensitive information in accordance to mission policy.

Project reporting:

• This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies:

• Experience in operating UAVs using the remote control & on screen console.
• Experience with the weather conditions, vegetation, rural & urban environment in which the UN operates.
• Deep understanding of map navigation, GPS waypoints & tracks.
• High sense of responsibility.
• Operational thinking.
• Ability to prioritize.
• Ability to honestly judge self actions.
• Experience in client facing roles & the ability to provide a professional interface with the user community.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work outside normal working hours.
• Industry recognized certifications are an asset.
• Adeptness to continuously learn new developments in drone technology.
• Military experience is highly appreciated.
• Fluency in French & other official UN languages may be required in certain locations.
