Overview of position:

  • CTG is looking for qualified staff as mentioned below in the TOR.

Role objectives:

  • Identify & assess civil unrest & threats to civilians.
  • Prepare offsite mission plan for mapping and reconnaissance surveys in line with the UN‘s requirement.
  • Liaise with service counterparts such as aviation & security forces.
  • In close coordination with end users, prepare data acquisition plan, including payload configuration.
  • Perform in flight image analysis & post flight data analysis to respond to information requirements.
  • Download data, archives & assimilate sensitive information in accordance to mission policy.

Project reporting:

  • This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies:

  • Experience with the weather conditions, vegetation, rural & urban environment in which the UN operates.
  • Deep understanding of map navigation, GPS waypoints & tracks.
  • Experience in using sensors such as electro optical, infrared etc.
  • High sense of responsibility.
  • Operational thinking.
  • Ability to do real time analysis & coordination.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to honestly judge self actions.
  • Experience in client facing roles & the ability to provide a professional interface with the user community.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work outside normal working hours.
  • Ability to process aerial images & data from drones to produce 2D & 3D geo products such as image maps & DEMs is desirable.
  • Industry recognized certifications are an asset.
  • Adeptness to continuously learn new developments in drone technology.
  • Military experience is highly appreciated.
  • Fluency in French & other official UN languages may be required in certain locations.

  • This role has no team management responsibility
