Organization
3IS is an international non-profit organization that provides information management services to humanitarian and development organizations, enabling partners to make informed decisions that ultimately deliver high-quality, targeted assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations. 3IS transforms data into information and creates knowledge for decision-makers operating in conflict, disaster, post-disaster, and recovery environments, as well as other complex emergency and development contexts.
Context
The main objective of this project is to strengthen coordination among humanitarian actors through the analysis, evaluation, and provision of synergistic information management services. This initiative will promote information sharing among humanitarian actors to improve decision-making and optimize response capacity.
EVIDEM organizations will share their experiences, knowledge, and lessons learned to achieve this goal. The proposed activities, along with the expertise of each organization in the consortium, not only complement each other but also align with Flagship Initiative 1, establishing a collective coordination structure for information management to serve humanitarian organizations. This will facilitate a people-centered approach, ensuring that their priorities, needs, and capacities are at the heart of all actions.
Leveraging its expertise in humanitarian coordination mechanisms and capacity building in information management, 3iS seeks to strengthen and empower humanitarian partners, enabling them to leverage and optimize tools, technologies, platforms, and best practices in information management to respond more effectively to humanitarian crises.
Description of Services
The individual providing these services will be responsible for the visualization and dissemination of the EVIDEM project’s information management products and processes, ensuring their quality, visual consistency, and accessibility. They will also be required to provide support for updating and displaying these products.
Activities
1. Planning and Monitoring
- Prepare the work plan and promptly communicate its progress, difficulties and challenges to the contract representative.
- Prepare monthly progress reports.
- Ensure the timely delivery of the products agreed upon in the schedule.
- Coordinate the delivery of products and services with other team members and document the actions and feedback made.
2. Graphic and communication production
- Conceptualize and develop graphic materials for communication and training, respecting the style guide and institutional brand, both of 3iS and of our partners in the EVIDEM consortium in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.
- Design informational and multimedia products: infographics, newsletters, snapshots, videos, photographs, etc.
- Edit, assemble and post-produce audiovisual materials.
- Organize a graphic library in digital media.
- Design reports and technical documents.
- Maintain and update the 3iS website, as well as other websites of humanitarian architectures in the Latin American region and globally as required (ReliefWeb, R4V, among others), regarding 3iS’s main publications. The consultant is expected to propose the content to be published on these websites.
- Propose narrative and/or audiovisual media that make the work of 3iS and the EVIDEM consortium visible through social networks.
- Create and promote an internal and external communications strategy for both the EVIDEM consortium and 3iS.
3. Coordination and Technical Support
- Maintain constant communication with contractors, web designers, industry experts, etc.
- Coordinate publications with authors, editors and printers, ensuring quality control.
- Design and upload content to online training platforms.
- Support evaluations and systematization of training.
4. Institutional Participation
- Participate in face-to-face spaces of the project.
- Carry out field missions when required.
- Participate in cross-cutting groups in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the organization’s knowledge management strategy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Professional with a university degree in Graphic Design, Social Communication, Visual Design, Advertising, Multimedia, or related fields. Additional studies in digital communication, multimedia production, digital marketing, branding, corporate design, or disciplines related to innovation or technology will be valued.
Experience
To be eligible, applicants for this service must have at least three (3) years of proven experience in activities similar to those described in these Terms of Reference. Demonstrable experience in designing materials (agendas, banners, digital kits, social media visuals, presentations) will be given special consideration. Experience working with humanitarian or innovation projects, or with international organizations, is also desirable. An up-to-date portfolio demonstrating creative ability and technical proficiency is required.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in graphic design and editing programs, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Corel Draw, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and other tools relevant to the production of visual and communication materials.
- Excellent visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information and ideas clearly, creatively, and effectively to different audiences.
- Solid understanding and application of the principles of data processing and handling, guaranteeing the integrity, confidentiality and proper use of information.
- Advanced handling of office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and digital management platforms.
- High attention to detail and rigor in visual quality, ensuring graphic consistency and compliance with institutional standards in all products.
- Ability to work towards results, meeting goals, deadlines and monitoring of management indicators.
- Knowledge of the dynamics of the humanitarian context, including its actors, approaches and associated institutional guidelines.
Languages
Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) is required, and intermediate knowledge of English is desirable.
Responsibility to the beneficiaries
Staff are expected to respect the principles of accountability to beneficiaries of 3IS programs in line with international standards, while actively involving beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of 3IS projects.
