How can you make a difference? Key functions / Responsibilities

The Information Technology Assistant will be responsible for providing first-level technical support to the Venezuelan Red Cross teams and for providing technical support for the implementation, adoption, and use of the institutional ERP system, in coordination with internal teams and external providers.

The role will have a practical and operational focus, aimed at ensuring the continuity of technological services, the proper management of IT assets, and providing technical support to users during technological change processes. The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Provide first-level technical support (helpdesk) to CRV staff and volunteers, both in person and remotely.
  • Install, configure and provide basic maintenance to computer equipment, peripherals, local networks and collaboration tools (computers, printers, connectivity, Office 365 or other institutional platforms).
  • Support the resolution of software and hardware incidents, ensuring adequate response times and escalating cases when necessary.
  • Manage and maintain an up-to-date inventory of technological assets (equipment, licenses, access), in coordination with the corresponding administrative areas.
  • Support the implementation of good cybersecurity practices, proper use of equipment, and protection of information.
  • Provide technical support to the institutional ERP implementation process, in coordination with the system provider, the Finance area and the user areas, at headquarters and other branches.
  • Support basic system configuration, functional testing, initial data loading, and technical validation of modules, according to the ERP project guidelines.
  • Act as a technical support point for ERP users, channeling incidents, queries and functional requirements.
  • Support the development of user manuals, quick guides, and support materials for the use of the ERP.
  • Provide technical support in training processes to end users during the implementation and start-up of the system.
  • Support the monitoring of ERP incidents and improvements during the deployment and stabilization phases.
  • Coordinate with the Finance, Human Resources, Programs, Logistics and other user areas to facilitate the proper use of technological tools.
  • Support the standardization of technological processes and the documentation of IT procedures.
  • Provide timely support to subsidiaries when required and authorized.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies regarding the use of technologies, confidentiality, and information protection.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by your immediate supervisor, based on institutional needs.

Report

The Information Technology Assistant will report to the Organizational Development Directorate.

Trips

You must be available to travel within the country.

Teams

It is highly desirable that you have sufficient equipment to perform your function remotely: laptop and/or computer, good internet connection, among others.

Workplace

Caracas (Headquarters of the Venezuelan Red Cross).

To qualify as a builder of the Venezuelan humanitarian system, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Technical or university training in Information Technologies, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computing or other related areas.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in IT technical support, helpdesk or basic systems administration in medium or large organizations.
  • Experience in installation, configuration and support of hardware, software and basic networks (LAN, WiFi).
  • Experience using productivity and collaboration tools (Microsoft 365 or other similar platforms).
  • Knowledge or prior experience in implementing or supporting ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Dynamics, or others) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to support technological change processes and provide support to non-technical users.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and user orientation.
  • Ability to document processes, incidents, and technical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Desirable prior experience in humanitarian organizations, NGOs or with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
  • Commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Functional knowledge of the English language is desirable (not exclusive).
