HI’s program was regionalized in 2020 with the aim of improving the implementation of its social mission and making it more efficient. In the Americas, HI is present in Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Honduras, Peru, and Venezuela, implementing projects at the national and regional levels. Some of the projects implemented by HI, or through its partners, in Latin America include: humanitarian response to the Venezuelan migration crisis, protection against violence, Comprehensive Mine Action, Inclusive Disaster Risk Management, sexual and reproductive health, mental health and psychosocial support, protection, economic inclusion, and rehabilitation.
HI
is present in Venezuela in several states (Amazonas, Apure, Delta Amacuro, Monagas, Miranda). It implements projects in various sectors such as health (mental health and psychosocial support; physical and functional rehabilitation), economic inclusion, and economic governance, among others, with an increasing focus on inclusion.
PROJECT PRESENTATION
This call for applications is made within the framework of the GFFO project, in partnership with a local partner, which seeks to provide an integrated response, through an inclusive approach considering gender, age, and disability, to address the protection, WASH, food security, and health needs of
underserved host communities and vulnerable migrants in the State of Amazonas, in the municipality of Atures.
SPECIFIC MISSIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific objectives of the role:
1. Support the identification and targeting of the intended population in the communities, providing comprehensive care to beneficiaries within the framework of the project objectives.
• Conduct identification and provide direct care through individual, group, and community sessions, giving particular attention to people with disabilities, with a gender and ethnic focus, and to families facing stressful situations.
• Identify individual mental health care needs, which can be addressed directly by the project’s psychosocial professional or referred to external providers of specialized services (basic needs, specialized treatment).
• Provide direct psychological first aid, with special attention to women and children, people with disabilities, older adults, and the ethnic community.
• Provide a rapid, personalized assistance plan for each identified case.
• Maintain the information system updated according to the data management required by the project.
• Contribute to the training, professional development, and updating of basic knowledge related to psychosocial and mental health support.
• Work closely with the care teams of other organizations present in the area to provide individual or group psychosocial support to referred cases, with the aim of improving the well-being of the target population.
1. Responsibilities and Expected Deliverables
The expected deliverables are:
• Monthly planning of the activities associated with the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support component.
Forms for recording information (psychosocial assessment forms, group forms, attendance list, informed consent).
• Personalized and suggested action plan for each psychological support session.
• Regular (monthly) activity reports that include data broken down by age, gender, and disability, as well as lessons learned, contributing to the learning of this component within the project.
• Tools and resources necessary for implementation, subject to the proposed activities, that contribute to strengthening the capacities of the psychosocial volunteer team.
• Timely registration of information in the database through the designated accountability mechanisms and ensuring that the information is up-to-date.

COMPETENCIES AND PROFILE
PROFILE AND KNOWLEDGE SKILLS (PRACTICES) INTERPERSONAL SKILLS (ATTITUDES)
– Psychology Professional.
– A minimum of 5 years of experience participating in social projects, ideally providing social support to vulnerable populations and/or ethnic communities.
– Demonstrable experience implementing projects with Mental Health and Psychosocial Support components
. – Fieldwork experience with a Non-Profit Organization (national or international).
– Demonstrable experience, from psycho-spiritual and community-based approaches, working with indigenous populations.
– Desirable: basic knowledge of one of the indigenous languages ​​spoken in the prioritized municipalities.
– Knowledge and experience in psychological first aid in community contexts. Required cross-cutting competencies:
– Partner management.
– Logical framework methodology and results-based management.
– Working with an inclusive approach, particularly regarding disability.
– Report writing.
– Networking.
– Microsoft Office Suite.
– Good communication and writing skills in Spanish.
– Ability to simplify and prioritize.

– Extensive knowledge of the territory where the work will be carried out. Personal Competencies:

CONSULTANT PRINCIPLES AND VALUES
Confidentiality: Respect must be shown to all individuals involved in the processes, as part of ethical parameters, maintaining confidentiality of the information provided and collected, especially if it involves people with disabilities, their families, and those working to uphold their rights.
•Objectivity, Neutrality, and Independence: The consultancy must be objective, neutral, and independent, focused on verifiable findings. The consultant must always maintain control and independence over the research mechanisms and instruments, preventing any contrary limitations.
• Multidimensional: The consultant must collect and combine information from different sources, processes, and outcomes to allow for data comparison and the incorporation of information from different levels of the action cycle and its impact on the results achieved.
• Participation: The consultant must ensure that the systematization includes the opinions of all stakeholders involved in the process. Given the plurality of stakeholders, appropriate and differentiated methodologies must be implemented.
• HI Code of Conduct: The consultant must comply with the organization’s Code of Conduct.
• Child Protection Policy: This policy aims to protect children from any intentional or unintentional abuse or mistreatment. This policy applies to Humanité & Inclusion, as well as its collaborators, local or expatriate staff, in relation to the children they work with. HI will pay particular attention to its partners’ actions regarding the dignity of children.
• Policy for the protection of beneficiaries against exploitation and sexual abuse: Through this policy, HI demonstrates its commitment to combating the exploitation and sexual abuse of beneficiaries by humanitarian personnel and to implementing a series of measures to reduce risk in its programs, regardless of the context.
