Regional Diversity and Inclusion Specialist At World Food Programme

Under the direct supervision of Regional HR Officer, the International UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

1. Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy for talent acquisition, talent management and retention in the region.

2. Communicate the diversity and inclusion strategy and its relationship to WFP’s purpose and values.

3. Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures in relation to Diversity and Inclusion.

4. Proactively support regional and country specific diversity and inclusion efforts.

5. Contribute to strengthening WFP’s brand and Employee Value Proposition (EVP).

6. Proactively generate diversity and inclusion content for social media engagement and outreach to attract diverse talent.

7. Design and implement concrete actions contributing to making WFP the best place to work for all employees in the region.

8. Design and develop capacity building materials and training on diversity and inclusion, in partnership with the WFP Career Management and Diversity and Inclusion teams in headquarters.

9. Facilitate and organize regional and country specific events, workshops and pro-grammes to create awareness and encourage participation in the diversity and inclusion agenda.

10. Review and provide input for the advancement of diversity and inclusion in existing and future HR policies, procedures and practices.

11. Conduct research on regional demographic trends and on demographics underrepresented in WFP in the region, stay abreast of global and regional best practices, and recommend strategies for enhancing diversity and inclusion efforts in the region.

12. Regularly monitor and report on diversity and inclusion progress in the region, including disseminating information to relevant stakeholders.

13. Participate in organizational and regional joint working groups on diversity and inclusion to infuse cutting edge practices. 14. Perform other duties as required.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:

– Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day)

– Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country

– Provide annual and end of assignment reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities using UNV’s Volunteer Reporting Application

– Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.- Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers

– Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible. Results/Expected Outputs As part of WFP’s Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean, the UN Volunteer will provide a professional, authoritative and timely support to the HR Unit’s stakeholders (the Bureau’s units and WFP’s country offices in the region), while showcasing the organization’s core values (humanity, commitment, collaboration, integrity and inclusion).

The UNV will be expected to specifically deliver:

2. A strengthened WFP brand and Employee Value Proposition (EVP).

3. Diversity and inclusion social media content.

4. Specific actions designed and implemented, contributing to making WFP the best place to work for all employees in the region.

6. Capacity building materials and training on diversity and inclusion.

7. Regular reports on diversity and inclusion progress in the region.
