Workplace: The workplace and usual residence will be in Jacmel. Fieldwork is carried out in the municipalities of Thiotte and Anse-Ã -Pitres (Southeast Department). A minimum of two times per month (one week) or one time per month (two weeks) will be required to be on-site for monitoring activities and project implementation teams
Objective: The objective of the position is to coordinate CESAL’s Education projects in the Municipalities of Thiotte and Anse-Ã -Pitres.
Functions:
- Ensure compliance with objectives, results, and activities, according to the approved schedule, resources, and budget for the projects, striving to maximize the parameters of effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, feasibility, impact, and coverage
- Management, coordination, and monitoring, both technical and financial, of the various project activities, in close collaboration with the project managers and the logistics team.
Coordination and planning of the work of the teams in Thiotte and Anse-Ã -Pitres for project execution. - Preparation of progress reports and final technical and financial reports, in coordination with the CESAL administrative and financial team, following the requirements of the funders.
Inter-institutional dialogue with the various stakeholders present in the territory, generating synergies and complementarities. - To ensure the sustainability of the intervention, as well as to identify both new local and international funding opportunities, as well as synergies and/or future proposals that expand the objectives of these, participating in their formulation.
- Close coordination and collaboration with the rest of the CESAL projects and teams.
Required profile:
- Only CVs from people with a work permit in any country of the European Union will be considered
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and French is required. Knowledge of Creole is an asset.
- A minimum of three years of work experience in development cooperation is required. Experience managing large-budget programs or projects and experience coordinating projects on the ground implemented by local partners are essential. Experience managing interventions funded by Spanish cooperation and international organizations will be considered an asset.
- Experience working in the education sector will be valued. Other development interventions in Haiti will also be considered.
- Training in the field of development cooperation and advanced knowledge of project management tools. Specific knowledge of AECID’s project monitoring and reporting regulations will be valued.
- Strong management and leadership skills and the ability to manage teams around a vision, a project.
- High work capacity. High stress resistance and willingness to work in degraded security environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and diplomacy skills with local authorities and partners.
- Ability to coordinate, plan and train teams.
- Identification with the methodological principles of CESAL and willingness to engage in dialogue that provides feedback on them.
Contract conditions: Permanent expatriate contract (continuity subject to budget availability). Salary according to the organization’s scale. International private health insurance. Travel: 2 annual flights to your home country at CESAL’s expense. Annual leave: 27 working days plus travel days to your home country plus the option of two R&R (rest and recovery) days.
