PUBLIC HEALTH POLICY RESEARCHER At Connecting Research to Development

  • Conduct and lead quantitative and qualitative research including research design, tool design, analysis and discussion, and generation of recommendations.
  • Investigate, analyze, and interpret data using accepted quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques.
  • Recommend and develop quantitative and qualitative approaches for use in analyses.
  • Prepare analysis plans and write detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures.
  • Provide clear written and verbal summary interpretations of analyses conducted.
  • Oversees and support the work of the research project implementation team (junior researchers).
  • Lead training on new projects and research tools with junior researchers.
  • Assist in business development including conceptualization of new research studies, proposal writing, and strategic planning.
  • Organize project files, data, and documents.
  • Attend meetings with project partners.
  • Strengthen team dynamics.
  • Capacitate the research skills of the junior researchers.
  • Contribute to reports write-up.
  • Develop articles for publication.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the CEO.

Desired Qualifications

  • At least Master’s degree in public health or related field;
  • At least 5-7 years of working experience in public health research;
  • At least 3 years of working experience in qualitative and quantitative public health research is a must;
  • Expertise in any of the following is advantageous: Immunization and Vaccines, Serological studies, Health Policy, Health Education or Community Health.
  • Experience working with government ministries, international donor agencies, and INGOs is a must;
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills;
  • Collaborative and constructive team member;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong presentation and training skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office;
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis software is a must ;
  • Examples of published research is a plus;
  • Fluency in written and oral English.
