About CRD

Connecting Research to Development (CRD) is a research think tank that operates in the support, generation, and dissemination of evidence-based research from the combined perspectives of public health and social science in MENA, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. Functional since 2000 under the name of Société de Recherche et d’Environnement (SRSE), CRD was officially established in 2014 in Beirut, Lebanon. In close cooperation with its partners, the specific goal is to apply scientific innovative know-how and to transform evidence-based data into programmatic actions. Universities, local organizations, international institutions, and government ministries rely thereby on CRD’s expertise and deep understanding of the research environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in in public health or a related field ;
  • At least 3-5 years of working experience in public health research;
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative analysis software;
  • Proven ability to conduct field research i.e., Focus Group Discussions, Key Informant Interviews, Workshop activities, Observations, surveys etc….
  • Proven ability to visualize and communicate the data, including within a larger narrative report;
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills;
  • Collaborative and constructive team member;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong presentation skills;
  • Fluency in written and oral English. Arabic is a must.

Tasks

  • Assist senior researchers in the overall work of the program, in administrative, technical and research-oriented tasks, working collaboratively with a team.
  • Assist in qualitative and quantitative research including literature reviews, research design, tool design, data analysis and discussion, and generation of recommendations;
  • Assist the field coordinator in the coordination of field research activities;
  • Lead in conducting field research in the form of focus groups, interviews, case studies, observations, and surveys, and other data collection methods;
  • Attend, and when necessary, represent CRD in meetings with project partners;
  • Assist in proposal writing for relevant projects across CRD and seek out new potential proposals;
  • Develop or assist in developing original research ideas in the form of concept notes and/or full proposals;
  • Assist in writing reports, briefs, articles, and other relevant outputs for publications.
  • Work with the teams in other departments across CRD on relevant projects and tasks.
  • Other tasks assigned by the CEO.
  • Undertake continuing professional development and participate in national and international workshops.

This post will report directly to CRD CEO, Deputy for Program Management, Head of Research and Senior Researchers. Coordination and collaboration will take place with the Public Health Department.

This is a full-time position. This is position is based Lebanon. Candidates will be interviewed on a rolling basis.
