Job purpose
Working under the supervision of the Protection Department Coordinator to provide integrated and advisory services in the field of sexual and reproductive health and family planning, in addition to supporting the health of mothers participating in the center’s activities with early detection of danger signs and referral within a safe environment that respects privacy and dignity.
Main tasks
- Preparing and delivering awareness and guidance sessions in the field of family planning and reproductive health for women and girls within the center.
- Supporting health education messages for women and adolescent girls according to the center’s plan and as needed.
- Coordination with local reproductive health service providers for accurate and safe referrals when needed.
- Providing essential maternal and child health services within the safe space activities
- Identifying pregnancy-related risk signs and coordinating referrals to specialist services when necessary.
- Providing first aid and necessary public health measures in the event of any emergency within the center
- Providing necessary initial support for cases of gender-based violence and referrals
- Ensuring a safe and confidential environment that respects the privacy of beneficiaries.
- Building trusting relationships with women and girls.
Qualifications required for the job:
- Diploma/Licence in Midwifery
- License to practice midwifery (as required)
- At least two years of experience in providing maternal/reproductive health services.
- Experience working with humanitarian or civil society organizations is required, and experience working in safe spaces for women and girls is considered an asset.

- Adherence to the policies and code of conduct of Women Now and consideration of the Protection from Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) principles.
- Respect for diversity, non-discrimination, the ability to work with vulnerable groups, and an understanding of societal sensitivities and context.
- Cooperation, teamwork, and excellent problem-solving skills
- The ability to simplify concepts and terminology into language understandable to non-specialist women.
- Strong and effective communication skills, empathy, and skill, kindness and respect in dealing with women in sensitive situations.
- Proficiency in Arabic, both spoken and written, is required; other languages ​​(English or Kurdish) are an added advantage.
- Skills in using computers and Microsoft Office programs, and the ability to work with cloud archiving software.
