Mission :

Under the supervision of the Country Director, you will ensure the quality, coherence, and impact of Action Against Hunger’s programs in Burkina Faso by providing programmatic leadership, resource mobilization, integration of cross-cutting priorities (gender, protection, accountability), external strategic representation, and technical and operational management of the mission in a complex and evolving environment.
In this role, you will:
Lead the operational translation of the strategic vision for the programs;
Supervise the technical implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and quality of the programs;
Ensure ACF’s programmatic representation and external coordination;
Manage and support the programmatic departments;
and Serve as Acting Country Director when required.

Profile :

You have a Master’s degree in development, humanitarian action, political science, international law, management or project management.

You have at least 5 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a similar management role within an NGO.
You have proven experience in project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, and managing multi-sectoral programs. You are also skilled in donor relations, networking, and humanitarian or development coordination, and you have a proven track record in community participation and relations with local authorities.

You are fluent in both spoken and written French and English, and possess excellent writing and summarizing skills. You are able to work independently, manage pressure, and draw upon a sound knowledge of national institutions, donors, and the workings of humanitarian actors.

You are known for your organizational skills, your ability to manage priorities, your interpersonal skills, and your strategic vision. You enjoy working in a team and possess strong representational and partnership development skills. Finally, you demonstrate leadership, integrity, and honesty in your work.

Employment conditions

National applications: in accordance with the ACF Burkina national salary scale.
International applications:
Fixed-term contract under French law: 12 months until 05/31/2027.
Gross monthly salary: from €2,899 to €3,376 depending on experience, including a 13th-month
bonus. Retirement insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens: 16% of the gross monthly salary.
Base salary increase: 6% every 12 months of continuous contract.
Monthly per diem and living expenses: €535 net, paid in the field.
Monthly context allowance: €300.
Child allowance: €1,500 per year per child present in the country of origin (capped at €6,000/year).
Transport and accommodation: Travel expenses and accommodation in an individual apartment provided.
Medical coverage: 100% coverage of health insurance contributions and repatriation insurance, and your medical expenses.

Leave and R&R: 25 days of paid leave per year and 20 R&R days per year, plus €215 compensation per R&R day.
