Coordinator for Cuba At Doctors of the World

Mission

Coordinate the response of Doctors of the World in Cuba.

Geographical scope of intervention

Based in Havana, with trips to the projects.

Organization chart

This position will report to the Head of the Emergency Unit of Doctors of the World at the headquarters in Madrid.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate access with Cuban authorities

• Represent Doctors of the World in relevant coordination and bilateral meetings with authorities, donors, partners and other humanitarian actors.

• Conduct security and risk analyses in the areas visited.

• Coordinate with stakeholders in the assessed areas, including local and international NGOs, to identify potential local partners for implementation and programmatic synergies.

• Coordinate the implementation and ensure the health quality of Doctors of the World’s interventions in Cuba.

• Contribute to the implementation of the logical framework based on the identified needs.

• Contribute to the search for institutional donors by providing technical support in the formulation of proposals.

• Recruit, if necessary, the healthcare personnel required for the successful implementation of the project.

• Comply with the rules and procedures of Doctors of the World.

• Know and comply with the Doctors of the World Code of Conduct.

Training

Preferably – Bachelor of Medicine or Diploma in Nursing.

Complementary: Training in SPHERE standards, CHS (Basic Humanitarian Standard) and/or Professional Certification in the field of Protection and Humanitarian Action (PHAP, Disaster Management, etc.).

Minimum requirements

Experience

• 5 years of experience in a similar position.

• Experience in project identification.

• Knowledge of the cluster system.

• Experience working with international actors and in complex socio-political and security contexts.

• Required language: Spanish.

• Desired language: English.

Skills

• Lead and implement strategic guidelines.

• High organizational capacity and ability to adapt to emergency and post-emergency situations.

• Proven ability to lead and manage teams. Teamwork and networking skills.

• Meticulousness and autonomy in work.

• Identification and commitment to the lines of work, values ​​and mission of Doctors of the World.

Remuneration/Conditions

Salary scales for Doctors of the World. Permanent contract

Work schedule: 40 hours/week. Category: Group 5. Country Coordinator
