Project support officer Lebanon M/F At Secours Islamique France

Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intends to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF provides its help in respect of the cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or gender.

SIF is looking for a Project support officer M/F based in Beirut, Lebanon.

Context

In 2020, Lebanon faced many trials such as the increasing of the social economic crisis, the beirut port explosion and the COVID 19 pandemic. Meanwhile, Lebanon has, as always, been in the fore front of the syrian humanitarian crisis by welcoming more than 1.5 million syrian refugees for 6 million libaneses.

To manage this unexpected influx which overwhelmes the lebanese public services, SIF is contributing by better protecting the vulnerable population through the reinforcement of psychological social support activities and communitarian protection system for the families. SIF has also helped to better the food security and social and economic conditions for women through project trainings. Finally in the afterwards of the beirut port explosion , SIF has helped rebuild the homes of the many affected by the tragedy, distribute food parcels and hygiene kits.

Your main responsibilities are the following (evolving and non exhaustive list):

  • Provide support to head of mission in developing SIFs fundraising strategy and updating donor mapping.
  • Ensure quality and timely submission of concept notes and /or project proposals to donors and of donor interim and final reports
  • Support the organization of project kick-off, close-out meeting, perodic grant review meetings, and other grant related meetings.
  • Provide technical guidance and deliver trainings on SIF and donor guidelines, proposal development and reporting to programme staff and filed offices.
  • Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safegurding practices, understand the child safeguarding Policy and procédures and conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the organization’s Child Safeguarding Policy.

Profil

  • Relevant master’s qualification in project management/ Development economics/ Sociology or similar academic achievments.
  • At least 2 years experience in proposal, project, or programme development, reporting and/or project management in an NGO.
  • Good knowledge and experience of funding environment, donors rules,regulations.
  • Strong understanding of, and demonstratable experience in project cycle management, particularly monitoring and evaluation.
  • Excellent writting and speaking skills in English.
  • Ability to plan workload and demonstrate accountability and proctivity for output
  • Good organizational skills including accuracy, consistency, attention to details, tenacity, and ability to work under pressure.

  • French full time 6 months contract
  • Starting date: ASAP

  • Rapatriation insurance, 100% covered by SIF
  • R&R to your homecountry covered by SIF after 6 months of mission
  • Leaves every 3 months
