Context & Mission

The Field Security Monitoring and Support Manager’s mission is to support project teams in the analysis, understanding and management of security risks, placing people, their perceptions and their capabilities at the center.
We are looking for a Field Security Monitoring and Support Manager capable of supporting teams in developing their analytical, risk management and security decision-making skills, placing individuals and their realities at the heart of practices (People-Oriented Security Management).
The position aims to strengthen the autonomy of field teams in security matters through a coaching, mentoring and continuous learning approach, aligned with humanitarian principles and MSF policies.
Main responsibilities
Team support
- Supporting the development of skills in context analysis and risk management
- Provide regular support through coaching and mentoring
- Identify training needs and propose appropriate actions
- Promote an inclusive and people-centered approach.
Security analysis and network
- Supporting teams in the critical analysis of contexts and risk exposure for MSF operations, staff, patients and collaborators
- Strengthening the capacity to build and maintain reliable contact networks
- Encourage the integration of analysis into operational decision-making.
Risk management
- Supporting the implementation of MSF policies and frameworks (including the OCG Security & Safety Policy 2021)
- Supporting the OCG Security team in developing standardized formats, tools, and training for OCG security management,
- Supporting the identification, assessment and mitigation of risks as well as responses to severe situations.
- Promote contextualized and pragmatic risk management
Crisis management
- Supporting the preparation and management of critical incidents
- Contribute to the improvement of practices in line with standards (ISO 22361, MSF approaches, GISF)
Formation
- Design and deliver training courses in safety and risk management
- Develop practical exercises and simulations
- Use participatory teaching approaches
Desired profile
Education
- Diploma or certification in:
- Security management / risk management
- International relations
- Political or social sciences
- Or related field

- Training in:
- Adult education, coaching or mentoring
(asset)
- Training on:
- Inclusive security risk management
- Impact of diverse profiles on risk exposure
Experience
- Significant experience in security within humanitarian contexts
- Essential field experience
- Experience in mentoring/coaching is highly desirable
- Proven experience in implementing a People-Oriented Security Management approach
Technical Skills
- Excellent understanding of humanitarian principles (neutrality, impartiality, independence)
- Strong skills in:
- Context analysis and security
- Critical thinking
- Good command of risk management approaches (MSF / OCG)
- Knowledge of crisis management (ISO 22361 or equivalent)
- Ability to develop relevant networks of contacts
- Experience in training and/or facilitation.
- Proven skills in the design, development and delivery of training and simulation scenarios in safety and risk management is an asset.
- Ability to identify training needs and provide follow-up through coaching and/or mentoring.
- Good technical knowledge of applied security (logistics) and its practical implementation
LANGUAGES
- French and English
- Other languages are an asset: Arabic, Spanish, Sahel languages

Working conditions
- This is a field-based position with visits to the headquarters in Geneva.
- The practical working conditions in the field are in accordance with the MSF OCG volunteer manual.
- Duration of 12 months, gross monthly salary: CHF 5,500.- for a 100% position (proportional to the occupancy rate)
- Ideal start date: 01.07.2026
- Employee benefits: Health insurance and living expenses in the countries of operation and at headquarters, paid according to internal regulations.
