General context of the project
INTERSOS has been operating in Chad since 2004, with humanitarian operations focused on protection, health and nutrition, food security and water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH).
In Chad, INTERSOS implements projects in the Lake and Eastern regions for the benefit of internally displaced persons and Sudanese refugees. After a break in 2016, activities resumed in 2017 with an emphasis on the protection of human rights, particularly those of children and women, through the establishment of Child Friendly Spaces, the management of GBV cases, social cohesion, community rehabilitation, as well as access to drinking water, health and food security.
General objective of the position
In coordination with the Regional Program Coordinator, support and monitor the development of project proposals, amendments to ongoing projects, partnership agreements, and internal and external reports, in accordance with the mission master plan, mandate, and internal model of the organization, while respecting contractual requirements.
Main responsibilities and tasks
- Responsible for coordinating with the mission and internal stakeholders regarding the timeline and review of proposals and reports.
- Support in drafting and formulating project proposals, reports and project revisions, in close coordination with the relevant regional team members.
- Support and control of the revision of the content and form of donor reports and proposal files produced by the missions.
- To liaise with Programme Coordinators, and contribute to the formulation and proper implementation of masterplans for proposals, project revisions and mission reports, in accordance with donor deadlines for the given period.
- Promote compliance with donor guidelines in coordination with the Grants Unit.
- Responsible for overseeing the reporting schedule for programs implemented in missions during the given period.
- Responsible for setting up projects in the IMP before the grant agreement is signed with the donors, as well as once the agreement is signed.
- Supervision for the submission of reports to donors, the archiving of the latest versions and acknowledgments of receipt in the IMP during the given period.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in international affairs, development, international political economy, or another relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in program departments within the humanitarian sector
- Experience in managing grants from institutional donors (OCHA, ECHO, UNHCR, AICS among others) and understanding of donor requirements and compliance.
- Skills in project cycle management and ability to plan and organize work activities
- Basic financial skills
- Ability to analyze data to inform reports and new programs.
- Strong reporting and writing skills
- Essential computer skills (Word, Excel and Internet)
