Europe Cares is a is an organization of humanitarian activists, who support people on-the-move on the European borders. Our aim is to mobilize the European civil society and empower a movement of solidarity across borders.
Paréa Lesvos is our community center located within walking distance from Mavrovouni refugee camp on Lesvos. The center offers a safe space where residents of the camp, locals, international people can meet freely to spend time in a peaceful environment with many recreational activities and sports, a Women Space, a cafeteria with free drinks and daily lunch. Our center hosts another 10 partner organizations offering a wide range of services to our beneficiaries including MHPSS, legal support, NFI distributions, informal education and integration support.
Our Project Coordinator is responsible for operating and reporting from our project and activities at Paréa Lesvos. In close cooperation with the Volunteer Coordinator and under the guidance of the Field Coordinator, you will be responsible for the overall coordination of our activities at Paréa, the management of our volunteers as well as the logistics.
Your daily tasks may involve:
- Overviewing and maintening our activities (café, Women Space, Paréa Club, community events);
- Managing, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of activities;
- Carrying out program trainings and meetings with volunteers involved in the activities;
- Purchasing and managing the supplies needed for the implementation of activities;
- Considering new projects and activities based on the needs at the location and the organisations’ strategy;
- Collecting qualitative and quantitative data from projects to implement, ensure and follow-up on relevant M&E plans;
- Professionalizing the operations of the center in close cooperation with the team;
- Other relevant tasks as requested by the Field Coordinator.
What we are looking for:
- At least 21 years old;
- Able to commit for at least 6 months;
- (Under-)graduate degree in a relevant field of study;
- 6-months minimum experience from humanitarian organisations, and project or volunteer management in particular;
- Talent and experience in organizing tasks and people;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the refugee/humanitarian context in Greece;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- High degree of integrity and strict compliance to Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy;
- Fluent in English. Greek and other context relevant languages (i.e. Farsi/Arabic/Pashto/Dari) are an advantage;
- Commitment to the values and mission of Europe Cares;
- An experienced driver with an international drivers license.
