II. Organizational context

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) is a non-profit non-governmental organization with field activities in 27 countries (Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa) and an extensive social services program in the Czech Republic assisting more than 100,000 clients. CCR is a member of the international network of Caritas Internationalis and cooperates with a number of international and local partners.

The core of CCR’s activities focuses on development cooperation and longer-term programming. However, the share of humanitarian and nexus interventions is growing, especially in the sectors of shelter, cash and emergency livelihoods, WASH and health.

CCR is looking for a Field Monitor who will be based in Aleppo and Idleb Governorates and will be responsible for coordination with the implementing partner organization and ensuring smooth implementation of the project and operational activities with adherence to logistics, HR, administration and security procedures. The Field Monitor will assist the project team in coordination and liaison with relevant CCR partners including NGOs, INGOs, local authorities and community leaders among others.

III. Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities

  • Organize day-to-day implementation engagement with project’s target participants
  • Support the project team in planning and executing the monthly work plan
  • Under the guidance of M&E Coordinator, ensure two-way comprehensive communication between CCR and project participants
  • Support M&E Coordinator to in various data gathering, conduct regular monitoring activities, collect and address grievances of project participants in coordination with the project team
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager

Quality Assurance and Staffing

  • Monitor the project activities against quality standards
  • Follow up with implementing partner organization to monitor their capacity and implementation quality
  • Complete monitoring reports and inform relevant team members of the suggested action plan for improvement

Representation of CCR in the field

  • Support the field team whenever appropriate to ensure the necessary coordination with the local authorities and other key stakeholders are in place
  • Assist the field team to strengthen CCR’s role among other local and International NGOs, donors, and local authorities.

IV. Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in project monitoring, preferably in the emergency humanitarian assistance setting
  • Knowledge of the Northwest Syria context
  • Successful track record of delivering projects and managing teams
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, anticipate challenges and initiate plans of mitigations
  • Excellent knowledge of Turkish and Arabic, good written and spoken English is an asset
