About ITF
The International Transformation Foundation (ITF) is an international youth-led non-profit organization established in December 2009 and officially registered in Kenya in August 2010. ITF was founded with the belief that education, leadership, and entrepreneurship are key tools in addressing youth unemployment and poverty worldwide.
Through youth leadership, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, clean water access, and community development programs, ITF works to empower young people and transform communities. ITF implements projects such as the Join the Pipe Project, Water Kiosk at School initiatives, Public Drinking Water Fountains, Erasmus Plus partnerships, and youth livelihood programs across different communities.
Position Summary
ITF is seeking a passionate, innovative, and highly motivated Project Assistant to support the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of organizational projects and community initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Director, Project teams, volunteers, local communities, and project partners to ensure effective implementation of ITF programs and activities.
This opportunity is ideal for young professionals interested in gaining hands-on experience in project management, community development, nonprofit operations, and youth empowerment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and implementation of ITF projects and activities;
- Conduct field visits, community assessments, and project monitoring activities;
- Prepare project reports, activity reports, and documentation;
- Coordinate community meetings, trainings, and awareness activities;
- Assist in project budgeting, logistics, and operational coordination;
- Support monitoring and evaluation processes including data collection and reporting;
- Maintain project records, photos, and activity documentation;
- Liaise with volunteers, schools, community leaders, and project beneficiaries;
- Assist in organizing project launches, workshops, and community engagement activities;
- Perform any other project-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Candidate Specifications
- Must be between 18 – 30 years old;
- Must commit to a minimum period of six (6) months;
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Development Studies, or related field is an added advantage;
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work in diverse communities and multicultural environments;
- Willingness to participate in field activities and community engagement programs;
- Good report writing and computer skills;
- Passionate about youth empowerment, community transformation, and sustainable development.
Compensation
Although ITF volunteers enjoy valuable learning opportunities, leadership exposure, networking, career development, and international engagement opportunities, ITF does NOT provide salaries, stipends, or any form of financial compensation.
Volunteers serve on a full-time volunteer basis and are responsible for personal expenses such as accommodation and daily transport. ITF only facilitates direct operational expenses incurred during official organizational activities including fieldwork, project implementation, and meetings outside the office.
