This internship is part of an academic, professional, or socio-professional integration training program and must meet the conditions set by the Employment Market Monitoring Council (CSME). The duration of the internship, as stipulated in the tripartite agreement, is 6 to 9 months at 100%.

Context & Mission
Doctors Without Borders is an independent international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, to people affected by natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, beliefs or political affiliation (MSF Charter).
The accounting department in Geneva is composed of two units, one responsible for HQ accounting activities (suppliers, treasury, taxes) and the other ensuring accounting follow-up for missions in MSF’s countries of intervention (field accounting).
The intern will be integrated into the HQ accounting team and will primarily collaborate with the accounts payable clerk. They may also occasionally provide support to the rest of the accounting team, both at HQ and/or in the field.
Main responsibilities
The intern’s role is focused on learning through specific, recurring projects, primarily involving the complete processing of the supplier invoice cycle, including:
- Receiving, verifying (legal and tax aspects) and accounting (general and analytical accounting) supplier invoices via invoice processing software and accounting ERP (MS Dynamics D365)
- Justification of supplier accounts through the performance of certain key monthly/quarterly controls (debtor suppliers, aged receivables analysis, etc.)
- Participation in annual closing procedures and preparation for audits according to the periods
The intern may also, depending on the needs, be involved in various accounting tasks (ad hoc analyses, support in processing expense reports, internal control documentation, etc. – non-exhaustive list).

- Currently enrolled in or completing a higher education program
- To be eligible for an internship agreement with a third party
- Fluent written and spoken French, good written English, German a plus
- Knowledge of common office tools
- Knowledge of an ERP system is an asset

- Previous experience in a finance/accounting department is an asset
Working conditions
- Mandatory tripartite internship agreement
- 6 to 9 month internship at 100% (depending on the internship agreement)
- Based in Geneva
- Start date: September/October 2026
- Gross monthly salary: CHF 2,000.-
