Work location: Clichy, headquarters position. Shared field position across the Desk Red Country Offices (Afghanistan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Ukraine and Haiti). Very frequent deployments to missions are expected.

Job description

General objective:

The regional Ethics and Anti-Abuse expert provides support to the countries under their supervision (Afghanistan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Ukraine and Haiti) for the implementation of the Ethics framework as well as the mechanisms for preventing and treating abuse within their area of ​​responsibility.

He/she ensures the prevention, detection and proper management of allegations of abusive behavior, while contributing to risk management and compliance processes.

Main responsibilities and activities:

  • Promote a safe and ethical work environment and strengthen abuse prevention practices.
  • Support the implementation and dissemination of ethics and anti-abuse policies and standards.
  • Facilitate training sessions and support SEAH focal points in country offices.
  • Ensure the existence of effective, accessible, secure and confidential reporting mechanisms.
  • Supporting country teams in managing reports and conducting internal investigations.
  • Conduct or monitor internal investigations and ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the monitoring, reporting and archiving of reports in the dedicated tools.
  • Contribute to risk analyses and the implementation of mitigation measures.
  • Support internal audit activities and formulate recommendations for improving controls and processes.

The main challenges:

  • Integrate this new position into existing frameworks between countries, the regional unit and functional departments.
  • Adjusting one’s positioning between countries with and without local resources in terms of ethics and compliance.
  • Managing priorities and adapting to unforeseen events.

Priorities for the first 2/3 months:

  • In coordination with the Country Offices, establish an inventory of the abuse management systems already in place across the 5 country offices and develop a roadmap of priorities to be addressed over the next 12 months.
  • In coordination with the Country Offices, ensure the prevention, processing and follow-up of reports
  • In coordination with the Country Directors, contribute to the recruitment, induction, training and capacity building of the country ethics, compliance and anti-abuse teams
  • Field visits based on priorities defined by the Regional Director.
  • Ensure follow-up on existing recommendations.

Your profile

Education / academic background

  • Minimum 2 years experience in handling allegations of abuse and conducting administrative investigations.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the NGO sector in field management positions
  • Experience working with SI (or a similar organization) is a real asset.
  • Work experience in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Ukraine and/or Haiti is an asset

  • Ability to make one’s work and expected results accessible to non-technical colleagues.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and a high capacity for adaptation.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Diplomacy and a sense of coordination (team spirit)
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Autonomy & curiosity.
  • Computer skills with excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of software such as SAGA, HOMERE, Link is a plus.

Language :

  • Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken, is essential.

SI will offer you the following conditions

  • Position based at the headquarters of Solidarités International in Clichy la Garenne (Clichy Town Hall metro station)
  • Frequent field visits to the countries supervised by the desk
  • Fixed-term contract: 12 months starting from July 1, 2026
  • Gross monthly salary of: €3,502 or €3,647 EUR according to the head office salary scale.
  • Teleworking (from Metropolitan France): 4 or 12 days of teleworking or 100% teleworking with 3 mandatory days per month at headquarters (100% TT allowance paid monthly).
  • Leave: 2.0833 days of paid leave per month and 1 day of RTT (reduced working time) per full month of work
  • Health insurance (80%), meal vouchers (60%), ÃŽle-de-France Ticket Pass (50%) covered by the association
