HEAD OFFICE – Logistics Department Intern (M/F) At The Chain of Hope

DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSOCIATION

Chain of Hope is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its mission is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, and especially children, the same chances of survival and development.
We work in 28 countries using a comprehensive approach, centered on the child but also on mothers and disadvantaged communities.

  • Prevention and screening from a very young age, particularly within the framework of school health programs.
  • Care and surgery, in order to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
  • Training and skills transfer to local teams through our international network of experts in all areas of surgery.
  • Construction and equipping of hospital facilities adapted to local needs.

COURSE PERIMETER

Integrated into a small team and reporting to the Department Manager, the field logistics intern will support the Field Logistics Coordinators in purchasing, inventory management, international transport, field logistics, and humanitarian logistics project management.
More specifically, they will be responsible for:

Purchases :

  • Participate in the analysis and monitoring of purchases made in the field by the programs and country offices of La Chaîne de l’Espoir (procurement tables, KPI monitoring, pre-audits).

Field Logistics:

  • Participate in regular meetings between field logisticians and their Logistics Referent to provide technical support and contribute to the progress of Country Logistics Action Plans.
  • In collaboration with the Field Logistics Coordinators, participate in the analysis and monitoring of stocks and equipment managed in the field by the programs of La Chaîne de l’Espoir;

Transports :

  • In collaboration with the Export Logistics Manager, organize international freight of medical equipment destined for the field: choice of routing, selection of freight forwarder, document management, tracking at destination.
  • Collaborating with the association’s logistics provider: preparing shipments, inventories.

Cross-cutting projects:

  • Contribute to the structuring projects of the field logistics service (updating procedures, creating tools for the field, setting up and analyzing indicators, etc.)
  • Contribute to the core projects of the Purchasing and Logistics department.

PROFILE SOUGHT

Education/Experience:

University degree or higher education in Logistics (e.g., BIOFORCE) and strong logistics skills. Prior experience in a company or humanitarian organization would be an asset.

  • Knowledge of how international NGOs operate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team and with multiple stakeholders
  • Patience, flexibility, versatility and adaptability
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and responsiveness skills in the face of unforeseen circumstances
  • Great curiosity and strong interest in operations
  • Good oral and written communication skills in French
  • Dynamism, resilience to stress, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Rigour, analytical and synthesis skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of and interest in humanitarian and medical work are assets.

Conditions

  • 6-month internship agreement
  • Internship date: August 17, 2026
  • Full-time internship, based at the association’s headquarters at 56 rue des Morillons 75015 Paris
  • Teleworking policy: up to 2 days per month after the first month
  • Compensation: €4.50 / hour (according to the legal scale and based on 35 hours / week)
  • Meal vouchers worth €12.10 covered at 60%
  • 50% reimbursement of transport pass or sustainable mobility allowance (bike) of 45 euros/month
