ROLE PURPOSE:
The Project Officer will be responsible to coordinate Project delivery of the SRGBV Project in consultation with the Project Lead and in collaboration with County education Office in the assigned counties.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Support the project implementation and coordination and actively participate in capacity building activities, planning, implementation and monitoring; mobilizing, partner and stakeholders’ engagement and to contribute to project implementation and monitoring activities.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Project officer will coordinate all SRGBV project deliverables in the two project counties in collaboration with the project lead and in collaboration with County / District Education Offices and respective thematic leads; the officer is also responsible for the supervision and support of the project coaches and will where needed act as backup in their absence.
The Project officer is also tasked with designing the strategy and plan to support coaches in community engagement with PTAs, Children Clubs and other stakeholders and making project monitoring visits to schools to support Coaches on the following:
- Program Delivery/ Technical Supervision
1.Headteachers, PTAs and teachers training and Mobilisation
- Initial Training for teachers in the counties.
- Programmed training on SRGBV.
2. Support coaches visits to schools.
- Meeting with the schools’ Principals to know the project’s progress and understanding and key improvement areas.
- Individual interaction with teachers who have difficulties and reinforcement of trainings.
- New teachers training initial training for new teachers in the Project.
3. Support coaches on reports and reporting
- Monitoring reports are made according to the project schedules.
- Liaise with Coaches with MEAL team to collect data from the field to measure the progress and impact of the activities according to agreed log frame / work plan / weekly monitoring criteria.
- Ensure Coaches actively active participation in contributing to documentation of success stories, case studies and other information to enhance the overall quality performance reports to the donors.
B. Others
- Line manages and support coaches complete individual annual and quarterly goals.
- Assist the Project Lead to conduct capacity assessments and develop a capacity building plan for direct reports;
- Represent save the Children at County Coordination meetings and other forums at county level when called upon to do so.
- Produce and submit field visit, monthly and quarterly reports on project activities as required.
- Promote Save the Children Accountability and child safeguarding policies across field locations.
Hold and document regular weekly team meetings and refresher/orientation trainings to improve delivery.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least 5 years’ experience (including field experience) in a similar role focused on advancing SRGBV and/or Child-Safeguarding.
- Strong understanding of SRGBV principles and practices, the SRGBV sector, policy priorities and key gender inequalities impacting children in Liberia
- Significant experience in SRGBV training, capacity building, and mentoring, and a demonstrated ability to make complex concepts compelling and accessible to non-technical audiences.
- Skilled at networking, representation, and partnership development in order to promote learning, strengthen community level interventions and mobilise resources.

- Ensure the Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) is understood by staff within the protection project and that it is integrated into all aspects of the team’s work
- Oversees implementation of CSP induction, trainings and awareness raising and ensure these are reported to the Senior Management Team
- Liaises with the national CSP Focal Point regularly to review and update CSP risks and mitigation measures and to document these
- Ensure all reported CSP breaches (allegations and cases) are addressed and duly reported on in keeping with local procedures.
