Within the management committee at headquarters, you will lead the Health and Advocacy Department, comprised of three divisions: Quality of Healthcare Practices, Thematic Expertise and Advocacy, and Research and Learning. You will contribute to defining and implementing the organization’s strategic directions in the areas of health, expertise, and influence .

Why we need you

At a pivotal moment for global health, human rights advocacy, and access to care, you will lead and coordinate Doctors of the World’s Health and Advocacy strategy. Your role is to ensure coherence between expertise, operations, and advocacy to strengthen the impact of our actions both in France and internationally.

Your tasks

👉 Define and manage the association’s Health and Advocacy strategy in conjunction with the general management, operational departments and association bodies.

👉 Ensure consistency of priorities, support for teams and institutional positions.

👉 Represent Doctors of the World to national and international partners, networks, institutions and consultation spaces.

👉 To supervise and support a team of department heads and support function managers, promoting cooperation, commitment and skills development.

👉 Contribute to the association’s overall strategy, to the management of its governance and to the development of funding for actions led by the management.

👉 Manage the department’s budget as well as several high-stakes cross-functional projects and initiatives.

Your colleagues

You will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with operational departments, the Development and Communications department, association bodies, and the association’s various expert networks. You will directly manage a team of 7 people, including 4 department heads.

What you can expect from us

You are the right person if…

  • You hold a higher education degree (Master’s level), ideally in public health or one of the fields covered by the department. A professional healthcare qualification is a major asset.
  • You have at least 15 years of professional experience, including several years in management roles, team leadership and leading health projects.
  • You know how to define a strategic vision, lead change and unite diverse stakeholders.
  • You possess excellent analytical, representational, and influencing skills.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written French and English. Spanish is an asset.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • You are looking for a primarily operational rather than a strategic role.
  • You do not appreciate associative, collaborative and multi-stakeholder environments.
  • You do not identify with the values ​​and activist stance of Doctors of the World.

Contract & status:

  • Gross monthly salary €6,404
  • Permanent contract available as soon as possible
