About HiHFAD
Hand in Hand for Aid and Development (HiHFAD) is a Non-Profit, Non-Governmental, Charitable Incorporated Organization registered in the United Kingdom and in Türkiye (TR: İyilik İçin El Ele Derneği) that provides high standards in humanitarian and relief services to the most vulnerable wherever needed through local engagement and global support.
Established in 2011 by a group of British-Syrian diaspora, HiHFAD was born out of a desire to extend a helping hand to vulnerable groups and displaced families in Syria and beyond. Since then, HiHFAD remained at the forefront of humanitarian agencies, providing life-saving aid to Syrians in hard-to-reach areas. Our extensive Healthcare Program has enabled us to expand and reach even more communities and internally displaced people; providing a comprehensive, integrated multi-sectoral intervention in Health, Nutrition, WaSH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Protection, Shelter, Non-Food Assistance, Food Security, Livelihoods, and Education.
HiHFAD mandate is to alleviate the suffering of those in need without any type of discrimination, protect the most vulnerable, promoting social justice and welfare, and fostering durable solutions through delivering community-based humanitarian and development interventions.
Job overview
As part of the Program Department, the Health and Nutritional Programs Manager ensures the strategic development, implementation, and quality of health and nutritional programs that are high-quality, evidence-based, impactful, and innovative.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Lead the development of operational plans for health and nutritional programs, ensuring alignment with HIHFAD’s overall operational plan.
- Review and ensure health and nutritional program priorities, strategies, and plans align with HIHFAD’s overall strategy and operational plan.
Program Planning, Management, and Implementation
- Ensure health and nutritional program activities are well-grounded, interconnected, and aligned with the HIHFAD operational plan.
- Develop strategic plans and budgets for health and nutritional projects.
- Monitor program and project spending, providing advice and variance reports in accordance with organizational processes and procedures.
- Conduct close monitoring of health and nutritional activities in the field, ensuring alignment with and contribution to the country strategy.
- Ensure timely and quality submission of health and nutritional program and project performance reports.
- Promote evidence-based learning and document effective practices within health and nutritional programs.
Representation, Donor Relations, and Partnerships Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors and counterparts specific to health and nutrition.
- Lead the development of program ideas into high-quality grant proposals for health and nutritional programs.
- Collaborate with the Regional and HQ program and business development team to secure funding for health and nutritional projects.
- Represent HIHFAD in relevant health and nutrition forums, events, and workshops.
Staff Management
- Provide direction, guidance, and support to the health and nutritional program team.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals and develop professional development plans for direct reports within the health and nutritional program.
Office Culture
- Promote and model a positive, professional, and respectful office culture within the health and nutritional program team
Background Knowledge & Experience
Education Level: University degree in Medicine or related fields
Work Experience: minimum 5 years in program and Syria context
Languages: English: Fluent Arabic: Fluent
