The mission
Members of the SI or OSS (Operational Support Staff) mobile team respond to mission support needs through the various Solidarités International desks. When deployed, these team members work under the responsibility of the relevant Regional Director.
Description of the offer
The Country Director will be deployed primarily to fill Country Director gaps. Working closely with the assignment desk, and in addition to the terms of reference specific to each deployment, the Country Director will be responsible for the following: The Country Director is the official representative of Solidarités International in a given country, liaising with authorities and external stakeholders. They ensure the smooth running of the mission. They propose the mission strategy, based on the geopolitical and humanitarian context, and ensure its implementation once approved. They ensure that projects progress in accordance with the Solidarités International charter and in compliance with internal and contractual procedures. They mobilize the material and financial resources necessary for the smooth running of programs and oversee the management of these resources. They coordinate the teams on the ground and ensure their safety during the mission. They maintain direct liaison with Solidarités International headquarters.
Your profile
Education and experience
- University degree, preferably a master’s degree in political science, international relations or humanitarian aid
- Over 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar position.
Skills and qualities
Technical skills:
- Proven experience in managing humanitarian operations in contexts of high security volatility and significant access challenges, including an understanding of relations with ministries and local or national authorities overseeing our activities.
- Good understanding of SI’s sectors and intervention methods (WASH, SAME, Shelter, Cash, RRM / Nexus approaches, community participation) and the humanitarian principles underpinning our activities.
- 3. Experience in strengthening local capacities and a good understanding of partnership issues
Transferable skills:
- 1. Excellent management skills
- 2. Strategic vision, ability to analyze the context and the agenda of the various stakeholders
- 3. Excellent presentation skills, including clarity, precision, and fluency in oral and written expression

SI will offer you the following conditions
- Fixed-term contract of 6 months
- Expatriate contract calculated based on the expatriate salary scale. Gross salary starting from €3,400/month, excluding recognition of experience in NGOs
- Per diem and accommodation provided during deployments
- One day off in lieu for each weekend spent in the field. 25 days of paid vacation. No RTT (reduced working time).
- Health/life insurance and repatriation (100% covered)
