BRAC International (BI) is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:
Manager, Knowledge Management and Programme Development, ECD & Education
The Manager will support BRAC International Education/ Early Childhood Development Programme teams in effectively streamlining and facilitating programme implementation and grant management.
This includes documenting lessons learned, best practices and coordinating timely cross contextual programme implementation. The incumbent will work closely with multiple stakeholders, including country teams, resource mobilization units, and BRAC affiliates to ensure high quality project management and professional donor grant reporting for all education/ECD projects.
The incumbent should be a collaborative team player with well-honed facilitation skills and a responsive approach to convening and managing with influence. Highly professional communication and strong knowledge and experience in education project management in Africa and Asia with technical expertise in education and or ECD programme design/delivery, and donor reporting and grant administration are requisite. The incumbent will take the lead in facilitating project related communications, utilizing existing programmes including salesforce.
The Manager will also provide short term intensive support to education and ECD country teams as required during staff transitions to assure timely delivery of programming and effective staff capacity development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage education and ECD project communication and coordination, liaising with country teams to track deliverables while utilizing and strengthening internal BI systems including salesforce to improve internal and external relationship management, capturing, organizing and disseminating lessons learned effectively.
- Guide education/ECD country program/project manager(s) in the development and tracking of professional project work plans, deliverables, and task assignments, cascading information to relevant stakeholders and following up on concerns actively.
- Actively support country teams in the preparation and drafting of education and ECD donor reporting, communicating and cascading information between multiple BRAC entities; collate education/ECD grant and project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary. materials are current, properly electronically filed and shared with all relevant stakeholders
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing through defining, supporting and encouraging the use of systematized BI procedures related to communication and knowledge management, supporting project workflows.
- With guidance from technical leads, support country teams to write high-quality project proposals, and develop logical frameworks, work plans, budgets etc. in collaboration with resource mobilization and programme development teams.
- Support BI education/ECD team and relevant country teams in preparing knowledge products such as: blogs, case studies, reports etc.
- Organize programme meetings and ensure detailed notes with action items and next steps are taken during BRAC International country ECD and education meetings. Cascade relevant information and actively engage all requisite follow up in a timely manner.
- Organize and provide updated reports to technical leads on Education and ECD sector planning and donor landscape development across countries to inform BI programme design and strategy.
- Engage with country teams in collecting and organizing an accessible knowledge bank of education documents including national curriculums, policies, and internal guidance/learning from country education and ECD leads.
- Work with country teams to plan and organize logistics, including travel, budgeting and procurement for technical trainings, conferences and events remotely and when required in countries.
- Other duties as requested.
Safeguarding:
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in education, International Development, Project Management.
- Master’s Degree is Preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Motivated and enthusiastic team player
- Knowledge and skills in digital project management and knowledge management platforms
- Experience working in multiple country contexts with a keen understanding of effective intercultural communication
- Highly organized with the ability to coordinate multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and networking skills
- Proven project management skills, including coordination and facilitation
- Excellent written and oral English language
- Experience working with multilateral and bilateral donors and government ministries of education
- Knowledge of education systems in Africa and Asia; preference to experience as a teacher, trainer or school administrator
Experience Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience working for I/NGOs or with governments in Education, ECD, or Grants/Fundraising
- At least 4 years of project/programme management experience
- Progressively successful experience in at least two of the following areas related to education: education/ECD grant administration and management, fundraising, programme development, monitoring, and advocacy.
