The role

Reporting to the Head of Programs, the Data Data Analysis / Reporting Officer provides technical leadership throughout monitoring, evaluations, documentation and data management for the BHA project. They will be the point of contact for Alight’s association with Kuja Kuja, which will ensure that community comments on timely data collection are used for meaningful action in response.

We do this work through an existing network of Catholic Sisters and the safe spaces they operate. By honoring the work of the Sisters and expanding the services they provide, Alight helps build new pathways and narratives for families in El Salvador through livelihoods and protection activities.

Alight has a central office in San Salvador and works in the communities of Apopa, La Chacra in San Salvador.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

● Coordinate and supervise the design and implementation of program tracking systems and databases to support the BHA project.

● Design innovative solutions to communicate our results and impact to our client with the aim of empowering the client through access to meaningful information

● Collaborate with data collection partner to design a custom feedback tool to collect qualitative feedback in a web form to disseminate to communities

● Make sure the data collection tool can also be applied through in-person conversations

● Support the data collection partner in training volunteers on data collection methodologies and open conversation

● Monitor feedback collected from those who have received dignity kits to understand areas of satisfaction and improvement

● On a regular basis, present ideas and trends to the Program Manager and the project team and facilitate a discussion on how to take meaningful action.

● Ensure the safety and security of community members who share comments

● Serve as the primary focal point for all BHA monitoring and evaluation initiatives and work in conjunction with partners on indicator measurement, data management and analysis, and research, monitoring, and evaluation.

● Support senior management and project staff to ensure timely submission of all internal or external reporting requirements.

● Serve as the main focal point to contribute to the country office’s learning and accountability framework.

● Help facilitate cross-learning throughout the BHA project.

● Regularly conduct analysis of qualitative and quantitative data collected based on internal and donor-driven timelines.

● Synthesize learnings from data analysis to inform adaptations in implementation of ongoing and future activities.

● Work closely with the communications team to share the impact of Alight grant-funded programs with the public through curated content that demonstrates our transformation into a 21st century organization and our unique approach to implementing the humanitarian work.

● Assist various testing and optimization efforts by performing insight analysis from multiple data sources to support data-informed decision making at all levels.

● Troubleshoot data quality.

● Work with partners to develop reports and new displays as needed, including semi-annual donor program reports, under the supervision of the Head of Programs.

Skills

We are looking for the following education, technical skills and knowledge:

● More than 3 years of data analysis

● Desirable knowledge of NGO systems and procedures

● Bachelor’s degree or higher in Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management or a related field of study or equivalent experience.

● Experience in creating and conducting presentations.

● Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is required.

● Practical experience working with unstructured data.

● Experience with data visualization tools is preferred
