Job Summary

Levante are seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial Business Development professional to play a key role in driving the organisation forward as it expands.

In the short-term, you will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of international projects and play a central role in developing company practices and systems. This will mean learning about the different requirements for projects in the regions and sectors where Levante operates. Your work identifying opportunities and gaps in the market will help shape Levante’s strategy moving forwards.

In the long-term, you will have the opportunity, support, and autonomy to build your own team and propel your business development career forwards within Levante.

This role is ideal for candidates with a keen interest in facilitating international development projects and social research. We are looking for a true team player who can operate at the heart of the organisation. While prior experience in Business Development is highly valued, initiative and willingness to learn are key qualities required.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Leading on business development strategy in collaboration with senior management
  • Research, identify and win opportunities
  • Market mapping and partner identification
  • Monitoring portals, sites and frameworks
  • Write project proposals and bids:
    • Responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Terms of Reference (ToRs)
    • Coordinating inputs from team members and sectoral experts
    • Contributing to research study design and proposed methodologies
  • Build and maintain client relationships through networking
  • Oversee website, LinkedIn, newsletters, research, blog posts, webinars and organisation memberships
  • Explore opportunities for visibility in the sector and represent Levante
  • Manage contracts, invoicing and provide administrative support
  • Develop templates/resources and support on report writing and other deliverables (Formatting, design)

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of an Undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Business or other relevant discipline
  • 0-3 years relevant experience, in the international development, humanitarian aid, charity/public sector or consultancy
  • Demonstrated success in proposal/bid writing with (I)NGOs, international donors, agencies
  • Basic understanding of social research methods, monitoring & evaluation
  • Excellent writing skills – ability to write clearly, concisely and synthesise complex ideas
  • Proficiency with software and design applications (i.e. Adobe InDesign, Illustrator) as well as Microsoft packages

Preferred

  • Language skills (Arabic, Kurdish, French, Burmese, Thai or other)
  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline

Remuneration is competitive based on national rates, experience, qualifications, and performance. The successful candidate will work with senior management to establish their own progression plan within Levante, linked to the growth of the organisation.
