Context & Mission

Doctors Without Borders is an independent international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, to people affected by natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, beliefs or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

The aim of this position is to deploy and maintain a harmonized institutional document architecture, adapted to the operational realities of MSF-Switzerland, enabling:

Business continuity despite instability (security, turnover, emergencies)
Reducing the risk of loss of critical information
Traceability, accountability, and institutional memory
Adaptability to heterogeneous field contexts.
Main responsibilities

Maintains and adapts the document lifecycle, both paper and digital, for MSF-Switzerland, taking into account the contexts of the missions.
Ensures compliance with legal data retention obligations related to the GDPR and archival standards
Mitigates the risk of information loss
Ensures the collection, processing, description, storage, communication, and secure destruction of documents
Designs and updates repositories and tools to facilitate document management, both at the field and headquarters levels.
Ensures the continuity of ADOC unit activities during the absence of colleagues (digital archive documentalist)
Desired profile

Education

Tertiary degree or equivalent in Information Science or History
Extensive experience in complex/international environments is an asset
Experience

Proven experience in managing paper archives and document lifecycle
Humanitarian experience is a plus
Technical Skills

Mastery of standards and regulations related to archives and data protection
Knowledge of archive management and information management tools
Expertise in document lifecycle modeling
Interest in geopolitical issues
Knowledge of common office and collaboration tools (Microsoft 365)
Knowledge of Atom is an asset
LANGUAGES

French and English are the working languages ​​at MSF-Switzerland and are necessary for the position.

Working conditions

Part-time position, 80% (32 hours/week)
Permanent contract
Workplace: Geneva
Ideal start date: As soon as possible
Gross annual salary (at 80%): from CHF 69,897.- to CHF 80,486.- (salary based on equivalent experience and internal salary scale).
Paid vacation: 25 days per year, pro rata temporis, plus Swiss public holidays falling during the term of the contract.
Pension fund: contribution to the pension fund (2nd pillar-LPP) covered at a rate of 3/4 by MSF and 1/4 by the employee.
Relocation assistance in the event of a move from another country to Switzerland.
