Founded in 2009, ALIMA has been present in Niger alongside its local partner, the Nigerien NGO BEFEN (“Well-being of Women and Children in Niger”), since its inception. In fact, ALIMA’s very first project was implemented in Niger, in the Mirriah district of the Zinder region. ALIMA has extensive experience in responding to epidemics (Diphtheria, Meningitis, Measles, Cholera, and COVID-19), nutrition, primary and maternal health, gender-based violence (GBV), and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene).
This is:
1. A consortium project with several NGOs – ALIMA/BEFEN implements the Health Nutrition component, ACF implements the WASH, Agriculture and Food Security activities and the NGO DIKO the protection component).
General objective: To contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality among host and displaced populations in the Tillabéry region (districts of Say, Téra and Bankilaré) through an integrated emergency response
The objective is: To improve access to community, primary, secondary and nutritional health care for children under five years of age as well as for pregnant and breastfeeding women among displaced persons and host communities affected by the crisis in the districts of Say, Téra and Bankilaré.
2. An emergency response project for access to and improvement of healthcare for populations affected by a shock and a contribution to reducing infant morbidity and mortality in the regions of Tillabéry (Abala, Banibangou and Ayerou), Tahoua, Maradi and Zinder
Duration of the action (in months): 36 months
Area of intervention: Tillabéri: 3 HD, 5 CSI and 2 mobile clinics. (Abala: 1 HD, 3 CSI, and 1 mobile clinic, Ayorou: 1 HD, 2 CSI and 1 mobile clinic, Banibangou: 1 HD).
FUNCTIONAL AND HIERARCHICAL LINKS
- He/She reports to the head of mission based in coordination.
- He/She supervises the project’s management team (for example, the Medical Referent, the Administration Manager, the Logistics Manager and the Nursing Manager) as well as the national teams in collaboration with his/her technical referents at the project level.
- He/She collaborates with the coordination team (medical, logistical and financial and human resources) and with partners.
MAIN MISSION
Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, the project coordinator is responsible for implementing the country operational strategy in their area of intervention, in line with ALIMA’s strategic plan and mandate.
More specifically, they are responsible for implementing the project and contributing to the project’s objectives, taking into account the evolving humanitarian situation and needs in the intervention area, and based on pre-established medical and operational objectives developed in collaboration with the coordination team, while respecting humanitarian principles and ALIMA’s mandate. They are responsible for the safety of their teams throughout their intervention area. They are also responsible for supervising the teams, monitoring programmatic and donor-contractual indicators, tracking project expenditures—with support from the coordination team—and communicating with governmental and non-governmental actors involved in the project.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
The CP, first and foremost, must:

Experiences and Skills
- Prior experience in an equivalent position within an international NGO.
- Prior experience in emergency contexts.
- A medical or paramedical qualification or experience in medical project management is an asset
- Prior experience in managing multicultural teams.

Terms :
- Duration and type of contract: Fixed-term contract under French law
- Start date: Autumn 2026
- Salary: According to ALIMA salary scale + recognition of experience + per diemALIMA takes care of:
- Travel expenses between the expatriate’s country of origin and the mission location
- Accommodation costs
- Medical coverage from the first day of the contract until one month after the departure date from the country of
- Mission for the employee and their beneficiaries
- Evacuation for the employee and their dependents
