The Aga Khan Foundation, (AKF) is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor Inclusive Education for the USAID-funded Education Resilience Activity (ERA) in Pakistan. ERA aims to support Pakistan’s basic education ecosystem to enhance inclusive sustained access to quality basic education for marginalized children. ERA is envisioned to engage with local organizations and provincial and district-level education departments in flood- and conflict-affected districts of Pakistan.
The Senior Technical Advisor Inclusive Education will be based in Islamabad and report to the Chief of Party. The Senior Technical Advisor Inclusive Education may be required to travel extensively to the project sites.
Applicants will be interviewed and hired contingent upon funding.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Advisor shall support the Chief of Party in the implementation and results of this activity and ensure it contributes to the objectives envisaged for ERA.
- The Advisor shall contribute to developing strategic plans for the program in line with USAID guidelines to achieve project objectives.
- The Advisor shall contribute to developing a strong vision and implementation of the program with an evidence-based approach, integrating innovative strategies, and delivering on all objectives of the project.
- The Advisor will lead Component -3 of the project to collaboratively design, pilot, and evaluate an inclusive learning model that improves student learning outcomes by building on the Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Minimum Required Qualifications & Experience
- The Advisor will require a combined skill set of inclusive education with experience in professional development of basic education educators.
- The Advisor must understand the UDL framework and how it relates to teachers and administrators as well as curricula and pedagogical practices.
- A master’s degree in education development or relevant discipline from an accredited, recognized university.
- At least seven years of professional experience in successfully advising on inclusive education and teacher training.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and mobilize diverse partners, developing stakeholder networks, and successfully communicating and coordinating among key stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of the education landscape of the region or Pakistan.
- Technical understanding and experience with the UDL is preferred.
