The Program
The Vanuatu Education Support Program phase II (VESP II) is an Australian government funded program, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training of Vanuatu (MoET). VESP works with the Ministry supporting the implementation of early childhood and primary education activities aligned to the three strategic pillars of the Vanuatu Education and Training Strategy Sector:
- Increase equitable access to education for all people at all levels of education.
- Improve the quality of education
- Improve planning, fiscal and financial management
The Position
The IT Unit Support Officer will undertake responsibilities aligned with two main goals. The first goal will be to ensure the Ministry can continue to operate in potentially disrupting emergency situations, using the Government recommended productivity tools. The objective is to ensure the Ministry is ready to adopt effective tele-working practices, should the need arise.
The second goal is to review the current Ministry’s website design and technology and support measures to ensure its administration is easier and that it is also more user friendly, increasing its utility.
The IT Unit Support Officer may also be asked to work along other duties, at the discretion of the IT Manager.
The Person
To be successful in this position, you will be degree qualified in technology and design or a related field. You will demonstrate experience managing high-usage websites in low digital literacy environments, as well as providing training and support to low digital literacy users.
You will possess excellent English written and oral communication skills, a sound understanding of the Vanuatu environment and will be willing to undertake travel within Vanuatu as required.
This position is locally engaged and reserved for National Citizens of Vanuatu.
