Under the direct supervision of the Chief of the’Unit « Procurement », the/candidate(e) will be responsible for the following tasks :
1. Consolidate and analyze data to inform country procurement strategies or plan specialized procurement initiatives that support efficient and cost-optimizing procurement decisions.
2. Support to’ development of strategic procurement plan to streamline local and international procurement, including service delivery schedules based on service needs, and, in order to ensure the implementation of WFP programme activities and projects can proceed smoothly.
3. Ensure supervision of other national staffs and ensure the’interm of the person in charge of the’unity in his absence, advice and support to the’unity, and, from country offices with relatively simple supply needs (medium value products, medium value products, and, implementation of programmes of a similar nature) on the implementation of the best practices procurement policies and procedures of the’organisation, ensuring a strategic and forward-looking procurement approach to procurement in line with broader WFP policies, standards and regulations.
4. Lead the implementation of procurement projects of moderate complexity or manage the operational activities of a country office (for example, issuing tenders, etc, evaluate offers and a strong negotiating/contracting capacity), to ensure the success of the purchase of food and non-food products or services.
5. Gather information and draft appropriate responses to recommendations to support the audit of procurement activities and ensure compliance with compliance rules.
6. Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with all relevant suppliers and vendors to enable WFP to maximize the value of the service provided.
7. Manage and coordinate effective relationships with inspection and superintendent companies to ensure quality control, specification compliance, volume assessment, and, monitoring and verification of deliveries.
8. Work closely with cross-functional counterparts to align’supply activities and promote an integrated approach to the’s supply chain for’s food aid.
