Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and coordination in planning, implementation, and evaluation of all FHM core and country programs, including strategic planning, work planning, program development, and management to ensure timely achievement of FHM results and completion of all deliverables;
- Oversee strategic planning of core and country program activities to support program objectives and technical initiatives. Supervise programmatic, technical, and administrative operations of the program, including decision-making for resource allocation, program priorities and evaluation;
- Oversee implementation and evaluation of all core and country program activities, including program M&E activities that incorporate lessons learned using CLA approaches into all FHM activities;
- Serve as FHM’s chief technical representative with USAID and international agencies and institutions and cultivate strategic relationships with USAID, global and regional institutions, donors, private sector entities, government ministries, and other stakeholders;
- Leverage external resources for achieving cost-share goals, including public-private partnerships;
- Develop strong relationships with USAID field missions and key stakeholders in countries to leverage field support and subcontract resources and build the capacity of technical assistance providers;
- Manage consortium partners to ensure coordinated inputs from collaborators into program’s technical quality and management, ensuring transparency, strong communication, and staff development;
- Ensure project financial and contractual systems and controls comply with generally accepted accounting practices and USAID standards, including timely reporting to USAID and partners;
- Represent FHM interests at meetings and conferences and increase global support for private sector health best practices by advocating with key multi- and bi-lateral partners and country stakeholders;
- Manage external communications and dissemination of information about core and country activities, achievements, and lessons learned; and
- Manage all FHM staff, assuring that all personnel efforts are aimed toward achieving FHM goals, objectives, and results.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, knowledge, and experience in mixed health systems, market development, and private sector health programming, methodology, best practices, and approaches in LMICs;
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience working in global health and another field that relates to the applicant’s specific technical approach, including at least five (5) years’ in country experience with designing and managing private sector health projects;
- Master’s degree or higher in public health, business, economics, policy, demography, or related discipline;
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, and strong communications and interpersonal skills;
- Previous work experience with USAID required;
- Expertise in working directly with host-country senior government officials and policy makers; and
- Previous experience working with global and regional partners, organizations and institutions.
