Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger worldwide. Its charter of humanitarian principles—independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, and transparency—has defined its identity for 45 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. Mission :
As Country Director, you will be responsible for implementing a sound and relevant delegation system, which will allow you to be accountable for all the following responsibilities
Responsible for providing the overall leadership and strategic guidance of the Country Office.
Responsible for overseeing the development, funding and implementation of the country strategy and the growth of program portfolio that effectively addresses the underlying causes and effects of malnutrition in line with ACF’s values (Charter), Programming Principles, and Strategy.
Ensure that systems / procedures are in place and being properly implemented, and that they ensure the proper management, well being and safety of ACF staff, and the proper use of ACF resources.
Build on best practices previously developed on the mission
Create a shared vision among all staff and be responsible for promoting ACF Charter and ensuring an organizational culture where ACF core values are embedded, team work is encouraged and all staff feels valued.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining good working relationships with host government officials, donors and other partners.
Manage team : 8 direct reportees. The country team is composed of 43 staff.
Profile :
PROFILS
Essential:
Postgraduate (master) degree (or Bachelor degree with 8 years relevant professional experience)
At least 7 years of humanitarian and development experience and at least 4 years of senior management or leadership experience, including team leadership;
At least 2 years of previous experience as Country Director or equivalent leadership role;
Strong ability to think strategically; and out of the box;
Excellent knowledge and understanding of working in a complex, and sensitive environment;
Significant experience of managing strategic partnership;
Experience of managing security in a volatile environment;
Significant experience with external representation and promotion of programs with stakeholders and potential donors, and you are
High understanding and sensitivity to gender and inclusion ;
Excellent adaptation and culturally sensitivity skills; and knowledge and understanding of the Pakistani and South Asian context essential;
Fluent spoken and written English;
Preferred:
Urdu, Pashto or Baluch language skills;
A great sense of humour;

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
24 months fixed-term contract under Pakistani law, starting from 1st march 2027
Monthly basic salary range (based on the candidate’s experience) : from 967,428 to 1,552,968 PKR
Other benefits :
Education allowance for children (maximum 4 children, under the age of 16 years) as per actual school fee invoice paid by ACF:80% of the Education Cost with a maximum of euros3,500/- per child per year will be covered; with a maximum of euros15,000/- per year / per family
Kindergarten / day care and university fee are not applicable.
Health Insurance covering whole family: self, spouse, children and parents:OPD Allowance: 130,000 PKR per Year – covering whole family: Self, spouse, children, and parents
Hospitalization Allowance: PKR 350,000 (Per Person, Per Ailment and Per Confinement). 50% enhancement in case of on-road/off-road accident in IPD Limit.Maternity Limit: Normal Delivery – 200,000 PKR, C-Section Limit – 250,000
Major Medical Care (MMC) per person, per annum – only for self, spouse & children : 500,000 PKR
Life Insurance:Death due to any cause (natural): 6 Million PKR
Accidental Death: 12 Million PKR
Communication Allowance: 2750 PKR per month
Pick & Drop – from residence to office and back
A temporary COLA might also be included
