Sr. Finance Specialist At Miyamoto International

LOOKING FOR SENIOR FINANCE SPECIALIST WITH A PASSION FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

With 30 locations worldwide, we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Specialist to support Miyamoto’s federal programs and its growing portfolio of work in the international development + humanitarian assistance sector.

Location: The position will be based in Costa Rica or Mexico City

Scope of Work:

  • Support the financial management and oversight of Miyamoto’s federal programs and the international development office.
  • Compile financial monthly and annual forecast and monthly earned revenue and consultant expense.
  • Thorough reviews of financial documentation, including expenses and invoices for donor compliance and Miyamoto requirements.
  • Work with and across project teams to ensure proper financial documentation and timely reporting.
  • Review and process field invoices (consultant timesheets and invoices, and other vendor invoices) for all ID projects.
  • Conduct monthly review of petty cash documentation, credit card reconciliation, and debit card payments.
  • Prepare the Labor Report and Project Earnings Report.
  • Invoice USAID, post the invoice to Deltek, and submit reimbursement request.
  • Conduct other specific or transitory tasks as assigned by the supervisor / Sr. Finance Manager (may include but not limited to ad hoc requests to assist with proposal budget reviews and contractor agreement budget reviews).
  • Invoice all ID clients according to each project contract.
  • Maintain updated contracts for all ID projects at Deltek. (Includes the creation and maintenance of projects, fees, sub-consultants, start and end dates, among others.)
  • Maintain regular and close communication with the ID Senior Finance and Compliance Manager and the HQ Finance team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in finance.
  • Excellent Excel abilities: pivot tables, v-look-ups, formulas.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of accounting and/or finance.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient with Microsoft Office Programs; Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated and pays attention to details.
  • Effective communication skills; both oral and written, across different levels of the organization.
  • An energetic, flexible and proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and co-operatively within a team setting and maintain good working relationships.8
  • Ability to work within set guidelines for the payment of invoices/expenses and identify instances when the guidelines are not being followed.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
