1. CONTEXT
The Danish Council for Refugees (DRC) is a private and independent humanitarian organisation working on all aspects of the refugee cause in some thirty countries around the world. It is the first Danish NGO operating internationally for the protection of refugees and internally displaced persons from persecution and for the promotion of durable solutions to the problems of forced immigration and conflict. All the work of DRC is based on humanitarian principles and on human rights, and, in accordance with the United Nations conventions and the code of conduct of ICRC and NGOs in disaster relief operations.The’ approach to protection and’ assistance to populations affected by conflict is provided in a long-term and rights-based approach to ensure a coherent and effective response to the challenges of conflict conflicts of’today’hui. ’assistance consists of humanitarian assistance, rehabilitation, support to returnees and’, and promotion of long-term solutions to displacement and its causes. Currently, the actions carried out by DRC in the Admaoua region are concentrated in the Mbere department (municipalities of Meiganga, Djohong, etc, Ngaoui) and are piloted from the DRC Base in Meiganga and its Subbase in Djohong. DRC also operates in the Eastern region, Lom-et-Djerem department (municipalities of Garoua-Boulai and Betare-Oya).
2. OBJECT
Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader Programme, the’Assistant (e) ECREC is responsible(e) for the direct implementation and monitoring of the project.
3. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure project implementation in accordance with established plans;
- Participate in the process of defining selection criteria with communities, from the’ identification and selection of beneficiaries, to household surveys and other studies (market research);
- Ensure post-distribution monitoring of unconditional cash transfers ;
- Set up and monitor individual and/or collective MRAs or remobilize existing ones, train and support them ;
- Accompany beneficiaries/groups in the development of Livelihood activities and their economic empowerment;
- To set up the AVECs, train its members, supervise and monitor their development and promote their empowerment;
- Update the database, collect and transmit all information necessary for project monitoring to the Program Officer and/or Team Leader Programme;
- To prepare and implement all activities related to’information of beneficiaries and stakeholders; and;
- Contribute to the implementation of technical training required in the context of the project;
- Contribute to the monitoring and’evaluation of the project;
- Write or contribute to the writing of reports requested by the Program Officer and/or the ProgramTeam Leader;
- Any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.
4. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Qualifications
- Diploma of’ engineer in agriculture, agro-economics, senior technician in agriculture, rural development, or technical professional trainer in the field, or any other equivalent degree in a relevant field;
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook; software;
- Ability to work in an intercultural environment and demonstrate flexibility ;
- Ability to work with methodology and rigor ;
- Team spirit and ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with project beneficiaries, partners and co-workers ;
- Driving license (A) would be an asset;
- Knowledge of the’ intervention area ;
- Advanced command of French ;
- Local language proficiency (Fulfube, Gbaya and Sango).
Experiences :
- Experience working in an international NGO, preferably humanitarian;
- Two years of’ experience working in programs of Livelihood and in the rural development
- Experience in the creation and the’ accompaniment of beneficiaries AGR and group WITH ;
- Experience in cash transfer programs.
