About Crisis Action
Crisis Action is a dynamic international non-governmental organisation that works with individuals and organisations from global civil society to protect civilians living in warzones. We work behind the scenes as a coordinator and catalyst, to support a diverse range of partners to increase the impact of collective campaigning. The support we provide includes warning of emerging crises and prompting early responses, sharing information and analysis, researching and analysing government policy, facilitating partner dialogue, negotiating joint policy platforms, coordinating joint action, planning and executing joint campaigns and evaluating the effectiveness of joint responses.
Crisis Action’s current conflict priorities are Sudan, Ukraine, Ethiopia and the Sahel. We also monitor arising emergencies and often engage in short-term “emergency response” advocacy. Crisis Action has offices in Addis Ababa, Beirut, Johannesburg, London, Nairobi, New York, Paris, and Washington D.C.
Crisis Action has been awarded the 2012 Macarthur Foundation Award for Effective and Innovative Institutions and the 2013 Skoll Foundation Award for Social Entrepreneurship. More information about Crisis Action is available on our website and our most recent Annual Report.
