TASK ASSIGNED TO THE CONSULTANT
Within the Italy-Europe Programs Directorate, the figure will be responsible for accompanying the development and writing of quality project proposals for the main Italian and international donors. In particular: European Commission (e.g. DG Justice, DG Home, Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, ESF+), United Nations, AICS, CIB, Ministry of the Interior-FAMI funds.
The main activities carried out by the figure will be:
- Analysis of the financing opportunity and the project idea proposed by STC;
- Development of the project idea ensuring coherence with the objectives and purposes of the opportunity and organic content. The consultant will interface with various functions within the organization to collect input and feedback to integrate into the developed proposals;
- Development, revision, standardization and finalization of project documents as required by the guidelines provided by the donors for each call (Logical Framework, Narrative, Budget, Chronogram, etc.);
- Support in the development and development of needs assessment tools, indicators, monitoring and evaluation system;
- Support in the preparation of the formal documentation to be sent as an attachment to the proposal;
- Collaboration in managing relationships with national and international partners, in relation to the projects to be developed.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the non-profit sector with in-depth knowledge of project writing methodologies for major donors (Project Cycle Management, Logical Framwork, Theory of Change);
- Proven experience in writing projects in the context of calls for tenders issued by national and international donors and in-depth knowledge of the procedures and related guidelines;
- Previous experience on the following topics in the field of protection of the rights and protection of children and adolescents will be considered a preferential requirement: poverty, social innovation, educational poverty, early childhood, school dropout, integration of foreign minors, protection, digital skills;
- Particularly appreciated is the previous expertise in writing projects for calls for tenders from the Horizon Europe Programme.
LINGUISTIC/IT STUDIES AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office;
- Excellent knowledge of Italian and English, written and oral, with particular reference to the language of design.
SOFT SKILLS SPECIFICHE
- Result orientation and ability to organize and conduct one’s work independently and autonomously;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Ability to work in a team to achieve common objectives;
- Communication and networking skills.

SELECTION AND CONTRACTUALIZATION METHODS
Candidates deemed suitable will be included in Save the Children’s roster of consultants for a period of two years. Inclusion on the roster does not guarantee a contract with Save the Children.
When the need to draw from the roster emerges, Save the Children will:
- It will define the terms of reference, duration and results of the consultancy;
- Will select an expert from the list based on the correspondence between the consultant’s expertise and the requirements of the financing opportunity/project proposal to be developed;
- He/she will stipulate an individual contract with the consultant, specifying working methods, times, payments, internal contact person within the Organization.
