ICT are leading an international strategy to standardise and enhance core ICT services across all our offices, laying the foundations for a more connected and effective organisation. The ICT function manages IT infrastructure, global applications, information security and end-user support services centrally to the entire organisation.

We are recruiting for three positions of ‘Area ICT Infrastructure Lead’ on a full-time permanent basis to join our dynamic team. This role will help us increase our global reach, working with local ICT teams to standardise our infrastructure, connectivity and end points to enhance the productivity of our teams on the ground and the resilience and security of our global ICT infrastructure.

These roles will be recruited close to our country operations and will involve travel between Islamic Relief’s country offices. We are considering applicants from the following countries:

Working as part of the UK based central ICT team, the role of the Area ICT Infrastructure Lead (AIIL) is to support ICT infrastructure services across the designated offices ensuring that maintenance tasks are completed, services are monitored effectively, issues are investigated and resolved, and that authorised updates, upgrades and patches are applied following an agreed change management process. This role requires regular travel nationally and internationally. The role also has a customer facing element.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • Experience of successfully maintaining a complex and global ICT environment.
  • Proven record of excellent people and interpersonal skills with effective communication skills at individual and group levels.
  • Strong technical background in a WinTel environment and knowledge of enterprise infrastructures including management of regional data centres.
  • Experience in ICT infrastructure management with proven track record in systems, support, implementation, and migration.
  • Strong technical knowledge – connectivity methodologies (internet and WAN), communications (PSTN, SIP), networking (LAN, wireless), VPN network topologies and distributed application and service topologies.
  • Good customer facing skills.
  • Proven ability to problem solve and deliver infrastructure projects.
  • Must be fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Must be willing to travel internationally (no previous restrictions)
  • Excellent organisational skills, displaying efficiency, adaptability, and versatility • Proven track record in a networking environments and problem solving.
  • Commercially minded approach and ability to make commercially sound decisions.
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives in parallel without compromising quality.
