Project: Advancing DRR and Anticipation to the most vulnerable communities in the Philippines
Location: Home-based/Philippines
Duration: December 2023 to January 2024 (Maximum 25 days)

As the Philippines is one of the well-established countries for operationalization anticipatory action (AA), there are many existing arrangements for AA in the countries. The purpose of this consultancy is to streamline the existing technical standards, practices, key learnings, and resources into PRC context to capacitate and further deepen the understanding of AA of the PRC staff and volunteers as well as the Local Government Units (LGU). The primary target audiences of the training are the PRC’s staff & volunteers with an extension to the Local Government Units (LGUs) and development partners of the Philippines.

Expected deliverables:

  1. Anticipatory Action Training of Trainer (ToT) Toolkit; including manuals for facilitators and
    participants and AA Training Toolkit.
  2. A batch of trained Trainers for AA using the newly developed training toolkit.
  3. Advocacy and Orientation/Briefing package of AA for LGUs, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and community.
  4. One Pager of the Training Overview and Tools linked to the dedicated online platform of PRC.
  5. The training toolkit presented with proper layout design.

Timeline:

The timeline for the development of the training toolkit is December 2023 – January 2024 for a
maximum of 25 working days.

Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate degree in relevant area, preferably related to fields of humanitarian studies/DRM/development studies.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working on module development for humanitarian organizations.
  • At least 5 years’ experience on conducting and facilitating training for the humanitarian sectors.
  • At least 5 years’ experience on Disaster Risk Management and Anticipatory Action.
  • Relevant experience on publication layout and design.
  • Preferably with experience of working with the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
