Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.

Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, information technology, or a related field

Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in website development

Job Summary:

The position holder will be responsible to develop a responsive website for FRAD Foundation

Duties and Responsibility

  • Engage with FRAD team to comprehend their mission, values, and goals to reflect these accurately on the website.
  • Organize and manage website content, ensuring it’s up-to-date, accurate, and engaging. This involves creating, editing, and publishing content like articles, events, success stories, and donation campaigns.
  • Develop a website that is user-friendly, mobile-responsive, and accessible to various devices and users, considering the diverse audience an NGO may have.
  • Implement secure and user-friendly donation portals or fundraising tools, making it easy for supporters to contribute to the NGO’s cause.
  • Optimize the website for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and reach. This involves using relevant keywords, Meta tags, and optimizing content for search engine algorithms.
  • Ensure the website’s security through regular updates, patches, and implementing security measures to protect donor information and sensitive data.
  • Set up analytics tools to track website traffic, user behavior, and engagement metrics. Analyze data to make informed decisions for website improvements and content strategies.
  • Ensure the website complies with relevant regulations and accessibility standards, making it usable for all users, including those with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with FRAD IT staff to assess current ICT infrastructure and communication systems.
  • Design and deliver tailored training sessions for FRAD IT staff, focusing on the latest technologies, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Develop a comprehensive ICT strategy in alignment with FRAD’s goals and requirements.
  • Implement security protocols to safeguard FRAD’s digital assets and data.
  • Lead the development of FRAD’s website, ensuring it meets modern design standards, is user-friendly, and aligns with organizational branding.
  • Conduct regular evaluations to identify areas for improvement in ICT systems and communication channels.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to FRAD IT staff, addressing issues and ensuring smooth operation of systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement effective communication solutions within FRAD
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in ICT to recommend innovative solutions for FRAD.
  • Create and maintain documentation for ICT processes and procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer within the organization.
  • Assist in the procurement of hardware and software, ensuring compatibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with FRAD IT staff, promoting knowledge-sharing and teamwork.

Requirement/ Desired Skills

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in web development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js). Knowledge of server-side languages like PHP, Python, or Ruby and experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) is also valuable.

• Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS): Familiarity with popular CMS platforms like Word Press, Drupal, or Joomla, and the ability to customize and develop on these platforms.

• Responsive Design and Mobile Development: Experience in creating websites that are mobile-friendly and responsive across different devices and screen sizes.

• Version Control Systems: Proficiency in using version control systems like GIT for collaborative development and code management.

• E-commerce and Payment Gateway Integration: Experience in integrating e-commerce functionalities and payment gateways into websites for online transactions.

• SEO and Performance Optimization: Understanding of SEO principles and practices to optimize websites for search engines. Knowledge of performance optimization techniques to ensure fast-loading websites.

• UI/UX Design Knowledge: Understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.

• Problem-solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues, debug code efficiently, and find solutions to technical challenges.

• Portfolio and Projects: Strong portfolio showcasing previous projects, demonstrating skills, creativity, and versatility in web development. Real-world experience in building and deploying websites for clients or projects is highly valued.

• Client Interaction and Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, understand their requirements, and translate them into technical solutions. Project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
