About the role
We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager who will oversee the Logistics & Procurement (L&P) team and supervise their daily operations.
The primary responsibilities of this role include reviewing and approving procurement documents before they are finalised, as well as ensuring the accuracy of the company’s inventory.
Working closely with other ARK teams is an integral aspect of this position, and your success will be measured by your ability to meet the material needs and expectations of various project teams.
As the Procurement Manager, you will report directly to the Head of L&P, who is a part of ARK’s broader Corporate Services department.
What you’ll be doing as Procurement Manager
- Deputise for the Head of L&P when necessary.
- Supervise and monitor procurement activities to ensure smooth and efficient flow through each stage of the procurement process to meet key performance indicators.
- Identify, report, and promptly address any bottlenecks or issues that arise.
- Monitor supplier performance, including delivery schedules, quality, and service levels, and report disputes and sub-optimal performance levels.
- Ensure strict compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
- Proofread and edit procurement documents and contracts for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Check and maintain procurement records, documentation, and databases for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Monitor and maintain the inventory of assets and supplies and ensure scheduled inspections occur.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of donor funding regulations, and provide guidance assistance, and training to L&P colleagues to enhance their proficiency in this field
Requirements

- A graduate with a degree in supply chain management or other relevant field, an experienced procurement officer who is ready to progress into a management role, or an experienced manager with transferable skills wishing to move into the field of procurement and supply.

Skills, knowledge and experience:
Essential
- Advanced English language and grammar competency for drafting, editing, and proofreading contracts, documents, and professional correspondence.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SharePoint, with strong general IT skills, including databases, cloud services, troubleshooting, and adapting to new technologies.
- Practical written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, ability to identify and rectify errors, maintain high-quality standards in procurement processes, data analysis, and documentation.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- High level of integrity, ethics and compliance to relevant laws, regulations, organisational and client policies.
Desirable
- Prior experience in a procurement or supply chain role.
- Proficiency in French/Arabic.
- Contract drafting and management experience.
- Experience and knowledge of USAID funding regulations are highly advantageous, and the successful candidate will be expected to become an SME in this area.
- Candidates currently undertaking or committed to pursuing the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) accreditation will be strongly considered.
